"Paws Off"? What the hell? Halle looks horrid in this. Look at that costume! She is nothin' but bones. And the story isn't even about the real Catwoman, but someone else entirely.

I've got a bad feeling about this. Of course I didn't expect anything of this anyway!

I wonder how many Imax theatres are gonna get suckered into this one. I hadn't even heard of the movie until the DMR press release was issued. That can't be a good thing.

This is the director's second film as a director. He mostly works as a Visual Effects Director. Pitof's last film as a director was "Vidocq" (2001).

What ruins that onesheet Joe posted is the "Paws off!" tag. That takes any "menace" away from the image and makes it look like a kiddie flick, when it's supposed to be going for the teen/adult adventure "Batman" fans.

When the marketing blitz kicks in, it will have a gigantic opening weekend, all due to Ms. Berry and her costumes. (How many guys went to the last James Bond flick just to see her in that bikini?) Then it will drop like a load of cat poop.

An even worse choice is the font for "Paws Off". An alternate version of Avant Garde. Very 1970's looking. Kinda like a Maybelline commercial.

If it had been me doing the design work, I would have developed a custom logo for the "Catwoman" tag; something tough and perhaps even a little futuristic looking --like proper comic book font title design should be. Then you would need an angry "dry brush" ragged type font for the "paws off" tag. Perhaps something like ITC's fonts, Arid, Choc or Kick.

The only way I'd watch this movie is if Halle Barry gets naked. Since we know THAT ain't goin' ta' happen, I won't be in the audience of this one!

And, about the text in that poster pic. It looks like there's a bit of travel ghost going on there, doesn't it? It practically hurts my eyes to even look at it!

A better policy is to not visit sites that abuse pop up methods. I can handle one pop up from a major commercial web site page. Any more than that and I may send them an e-mail flame (as well as doing the same against the company in the ad). The commercial web site operator will at least know they are pissing off people rather than gaining any positive ad response.

It doesn't matter whether people have the opportunity to install a different web browser or separate software to block relentless pop ups. The practice of coding relentless pop ups just should not ever be used in the first place. A new offender I see is these Flash 7 based floating ads which obscure the web page I want to read. That's even more irritating than the typical pop up that usually pops up behind the page I requested.

Spawning is probably the worst offense.

For anyone who don't know what "spawning" is, that's when you close a browser window (such as a pop up ad window) and the site opens one or two or more windows in response. Such persons who use this practice in web development need to be thrown in front of the speeding traffic of an Interstate highway, with web users free to piss on the asshole's remains from an overpass. Yes, I really do feel that way about people who write spawing routines into a web site's code.

How do I know that they abuse pop-ups if I use a browser that blocks them? Soon all browsers will block them, and pop-up advertisers will be out of luck because I'm using a browser that makes it so they get their shit ruined.

Well, to get back more or less on topic, a few months ago I heard a comment on the radio that the diet Halle Berry had to endure in order to fit in the "Catwoman" costumes gave her episodes of very bad gas. Made for a interesting atmosphere at the film shoot, sort of... [Eek!]

And drifting off topic again...with the original Mozilla browser and now Firefox, I've all but forgotten what a pop-up is. [Big Grin]

I'm pretty sure that we're lined up to play this. I hadn't seen the pictures or the costume until just now and I, too, hadn't even heard ANYTHING about it until the DMR press release. I wasn't looking forward to it, and now I'm even further from looking foward to it ...

The only thing good about this in IMAX is ... at least we're playing SOMETHING in IMAX. We tend to go on hiatus when there's no new product, and we IMAX staff have to make up hours working 35mm shifts (not so bad) or on the floor (no, no, No, NO, NOOOOOOO)!
