As a long-time brief wearer, I was convinced lately by some FT "friend" that I should try boxers.

I have NEVER bought into the "sperm reduction" line associated with wearing briefs as I have "produced" 3 healthy kids while wearing tight-whites daily.

Anyway, the main advantage I see for the boxers is that I can go out to my mailbox and get the mail while all my neighbors say "hello" and think I'm just wearing normal "shorts" and NOT in my underwear!

I'm confused as what to wear. Please help me to decide!

Freedom is a pair of loose fitting boxers.

Phil-

According to the old TV add: "You should wear English Leather, or nothing at all." [Wink]

Gosh John, I'm not into leather, whips, chains, or any of those things... I'm a "vanilla" sorta guy! [Wink]

But! Wearing nothing at all does have some element of interest especially if with the "right" person! [beer]

I would consider changing for the right person... [Wink]

well being versatile I like both [Razz] ......but not tighty whities..they have to be multicolored...tighty whities are for little kiddies just out of diaper training and old coots who can't accessorize without some help.....you have to be colorful in case you are in an accident or opportunity strikes. Boxers must be silky and light for those long days and air travel when you have to breathe a little [Cool]

I prefer boxers. They're more accomodating to obnoxious advertisements like the stuff the Joe Boxer company puts on their shorts. You can't put that kind of stuff on some little briefs.

Phil, why not try both? A pair of Boxers on the bottom half (below your belly) and a pair of white tight's (to cover your head).

Sounds good to me. [Big Grin] [thumbsup]

Ah, what the heck, you only live once or twice. [uhoh]

Bob, You took the words right out of my head. I owe youse a plate of White Castle cheese burgers!

Do they make briefs big enough for Phil's head? [evil]

I'm more of a boxer kinda guy....the only problem with them is they can get you in trouble if you start moving around A LOT! Then the boys get into a boxing match with the surrounding appendages, namely legs. All that smacking around tends to cause, well, to put it lightly, discomfort.

In other words, its usually not a good idea to play agressive sports without a bit more support.

I agree to an extent with the double J. I have always failed to see the point of boxers as they do nothing but cover you up. You are already wearing pants so that will cover you up. If you are too big like me then it hangs out. PLus if you want to walk around your house in your underwear you have to walk around holding the little opening closed. Whitey tighties support your package and give you a nice al bundy apple shaped hiney. plus, it is a little embarassing when you get a hard on, boxers wont hold the big guy down.

Ok Mr. Hippinator, you might as well just ask for a Film-Tech personals section of the website instead of trying to sneak little things like that in. (Why do I have a feeling Phil will turn that last sentence of mine around somehow?) [Razz]

I regularly enjoy the benefits of both, as I alternate between the two ... whatever my hand reaches first when I reach in the drawer.

Some days, the loose and free feeling from boxers works, and other days it's just ... well ... ya need the support, everything nice and firmly secure; so brief me!

Boxers are much better to sleep in, though. Especially with freshly laundered sheets, and a nice, comfy bedspread ... okay, enough with the 3:00am posts, I'm going to bed.

Hey -since we are on the subject. I never like either briefs (too tight) or boxers (too loose). Fruit of the Loom came out a few years ago with boxer-briefs (a hybrid underwear!). That is all I own in the undergarment department now.

They are somewhere between a boxer and a brief.........

I wear all kinds of underwear, mainly depending on what kind of pants I'm wearing and what kind of mood I'm in. I have briefs of all varieties, boxer-briefs of different varieties, and boxers, and they all have their advantages and disadvantages. For snug jeans, I generally go with briefs or boxer-briefs. For other things, I just see whatever works best with the specific pair of pants. Some underwear/pants combinations just don't work together. I've probably got 500 pairs of underwear (quite a collection).

While I can't speak for all of womankind ...

I prefer seeing boxers to seeing briefs on men. [thumbsup]

In fact, I'd prefer to see nothing at all to briefs! [Wink]

And what about the pantyhose vs knee highs vs thigh high vs thigh highs with garters?

My thoughts:
~Panythose suck!
~Knee highs are ok, with longer hemlines.
~Thigh highs with annoying "stay put" bands aren't the most comfortable things to wear.
~Thigh highs with garters stay where they're supposed to, look snazzy, and are just in general the most fun. [Big Grin]

Josh looks so young to have a couple of kids! It's hard to imagine him with a couple of pictures of his boys on his desk.

I wear skater jeans most of the time, so briefs would kind of defeat the purpose of the extra room. Besides, briefs make it feel like you bust a nut every time you try to sit down. But maybe that only happens to us with the "well-equipped" or "large format" booths. [Wink]

Blah. I don't play "sports" so this isn't much of a problem. But I see the point. It could be a dangerous situation with some sports.

You only need to hold the big guy down if you're ashamed of him like a drunken mother-in-law. Besides, chicks like to know how interested you are. [thumbsup]

OK, since we are on the subject of underwear, I would like to talk about one of my pet-peves; women who ware a bra under something that is meant to be worn without a bra. That is really ugly. If you are going to ware something that is not meant to have a bra under it, don't put a bra under it! If you're too much of a prude to do without the bra, don't buy things that will have bra straps hanging out everywhere.

Boxers are the best way to go, but every so often, one must summon up the briefs for a mission. Of course, there's also the thong! [Eek!]

Boxers look better, the tight undies should be left for women to wear! [Smile]

As for the pantyhose blah blah ...I've just started wearing Thigh Highs, haven't tried them with a garter yet. Knee highs are the most comfy but all my skirts are above the knees so it doesn't work. I guess I'd have to just pick thigh highs because of that, they are defiantly better then the full pair!

Briefs are pretty nice on a guy [sex] ... A wonderful packaged deal. [Big Grin]

Alright...I have to chime in, as I catch a lot of flack for my choice of underpants. My drawer has three different types, boxers, boxer briefs and mid-rise "fasion" bikini briefs. Usage depends on my activities for the day, my choice of pant/jean and rather or not I will be in the company of a lady that evening.

For "active" days, which includes my cheerleading practices/games, I MUST wear the bikini brief. Try a standing back tuck with boxers or boxer briefs on. You'll swear your berries hit the floor when you land. VERY painful. I also sport the bikinis on the rare occassion I wear tight jeans. Commando is also a good call on the tight jeans too.

For everyday wear, when I usually wear oversized jeans and shorts, I wear the boxers. They allow the free feeling you want for day of chillin out.

For an evening with the ladies, I use boxers or boxer briefs, depending on what I am wearing, and if she has mentioned a preferance. Personally I think boxer briefs make the thigh muscles look darn sexy, as well as the rear, so I see why the ladies tend to prefer those. But, sometimes you meet a girl that likes the boxer look, so it's just important to pay attention to her, and find out what she prefers.

So, that's my take on the boxer vs brief argument. Oh, and I did date a girl a while back that actually preferred me in the bikini brief, and I think it was because of the same reason Jen mentioned, that packaged deal.

Till next time...

I myself do the alternating between the briefs and the boxer briefs. Currently I'm a big fan of the Calvin Klein "Pro-Stretch" underwear, and I don't care, briefs, trunks, boxer-briefs, bikini's... it all looks great on me so I love it all.

As far as comfort goes, I'd say boxer briefs. Sometimes the elastic on the briefs grinds into your groin and YIKES things get tender. [Eek!]

Going "Commando". Yeah, one of my friends in high school had to resort to that -only after another friend made it a daily habit of giving him turbo apocalypse wedgies. The wasteband would be yanked until it tore loose. Kinda pissed me off, because after Billy started going Commando, the ladies paid a lot more attention to him. Dammit, I should have thought of that first. Arrrgh!
