The reason most people are getting it backwards is Mark's thread title. That makes it sound like this is a stereo system, in which case it would be backwards. If the thread was titled "Male vs. Female", then I think everyone would have gotten it.

It's not about "fine tuning" and "high maintenance," it's about arousal. Men get "turned on" easily, like flipping a switch; women need a lot of fiddling with their knobs and buttons.

The problem is they don't have a correct setting and if you ever do find somthing close to it, it will soon change, anytime, any reason, without any notice.

Gad what I wouldn't give for a on off switch for the wooman.

I thought this was about stereo systems, not love buttons. I would agree that it is a more complicated issue to get women aroused, etc. But when it comes to stereo equipment, most every female I know could not even be made at gunpoint to give two shits about proper stereo equipment setup, the difference between Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS, Dobly Pro Logic 2.0, etc. They only want the damned movie to work. Hence the very backward thing and the one switch. Women only want the damned thing to work. They don't give a shit about all the fancy, techno crap behind it.

Trying to read a manual to make sense of the setup won't usually work.

Attention should be paid to the reactions to the tweaking and fiddling, to see which actions yield the desired results. Even though different systems may look much alike, they will react differently to different actions. Much less of mystery once in tune with the output signals of the particular system.

And of course, all the fiddling around makes the playing that follows all the more enjoyable for all involved!

Have I mentioned that I love how attentive my boyfriend is?

Damnit! Not all women 'just want the damned thing to work'! Some of us do get downright nerdy about the setup of their electronic entertainment gizmos!

Hell, I play my video games in surround sound whenever it's an option (within the game).

If you are a true nerd then you will play X-Box in Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. None of this Pro-Logic II B.S.[av=c] You show your lack of nerdiness by assuming that the game must have a surround option within it in order to actually be played in surround. Geesh!
