I completely disagree. The soundtrack is rated "R" or maybe even "PG-13". I have heard a lot of PG-13's with "fuck" in them.[av=m]

Of course by current MPAA standards the word "fuck" by itself may be used as an exclamation even in PG-13 films provided it is used only that way and for a very limited number of times.

But used as it is here, expressing desire for an explicit sex act, merits an R or NC-17 rating.

It's use here is a pretty good example of "shock" humor combining such lyrics with such innocuous images and this particular advertising pitch. Very funny to me, but then again I do have a very open, twisted, warped, sick sense of humor.

Thanks for extracting the file.

The only other training films that I have seen as funny (or perhaps even funnier) are in the business series made by John Cleese (Faulty Towers, Monty Python, etc.) If you see one you'll never make the same common mistakes again.

Is there anyone that can understand german well enough to determine if that forklift film is in fact real, or just a parody? I can't quite decide since I can't understand anything they say. The whole scene towards the end with the forklift and the chainsaw seems a little too graphic for a basic OSHA-style training film, but the animations give it the feel of a real training film, so I'm guessing that the type of humor in this film is just normal basic humor to a society that has no problem with people drinking beer as if it were coffee. It's definitely the funniest thing I've seen in a while!

i think michael has a rudimentary command of the language.

i got the gist of it (the images help), and it seemed like the safety info was legit. the fact that it starts out very dry and only after a while starts to build to absurdity argues that it's a parody. a "real" training video would try to keep you awake from the start, though probably less effectively.

but hey, if you learn something from it, it's as good as real.

It seems that the film was made for a short film festival, the funny part is that I couldn't seem to find it online on any of the websites stemming from the above link, they only have it for sale on VHS and DVD. I'm guessing that the unspeakable has happened, a bunch of projectionists are passing around a bootleg video, oh the shame!

No, it means the call forklifts "stapler", which means stacker, or "gabelstapler", which means fork stacker.
I don`t know if this is a serious instruction film or a parody. I doesn`t seem to say anything about that on the website. It looks like it`s a short film produced for festival exhibition rather than as a training video. But the voice is from a well-known TV personality who did a lot of narration in traffic programs and a kind of "most wanted" show. It lends the film a certain aura of authenticity.
It wouldn`t surprise me too much though if they also used it as that. In Germany, you have to go through some schooling and a series of tests to get a license for a stacker. After all this learning, it might be a funny ending to the course to show the video for relaxation. When I went to driving school, they also had a lot of whacky cartoons of people making stupid mistakes while driving and meeting their end in a horrible way.

Brad, Just an FYI, it doesn't say on the site if the DVD is PAL or NTSC, your DVD player also might not be able to play Region 2 DVDs.

I can almost guarantee that it is PAL. If your player can play that region's DVD's, then there still could be a problem. With 24p movies this usually doesn't matter at all, but if the DVD was shot on PAL video, well then there could be a problem, especially since it would have to be encoded into the PAL version of MPEG-2. 24p MPEG 2 is neither PAL nor NTSC. Let's hope it was shot on film and was professionaly encoded at 24p.[av=k]
