Post Tabs Wrong Horse
New York paper's "exclusive" named Gephardt as Kerry veep pick.
JULY 6--In an embarrassingly errant front-page "exclusive," The New York Post today reported that John Kerry had selected Richard Gephardt as his Democratic running mate. The paper's story hit newsstands hours before Kerry tabbed fellow U.S. Senator John Edwards for the veep slot. The Post story, which ran without a byline, reported that while Edwards could have made the Democratic duo more competitive in the south, the choice of Gephardt "could be a sign that Kerry is 'writing off' that region." In a move to cloak the error, Post brass removed the front page image and the accompanying story from the paper's web site. While it is unclear how the Post made such a colossal error (almost as big as their Yankees goof), we'll guess that the paper will claim that after the paper went to press in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, Kerry changed his mind and opted for Edwards.

This ranks with DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN, from the Chicago Daily Tribune!
Here is a thumbnail picture of that front page:

Especially funny as "The Post" is a Rupert Murdoch (FOX owner) paper. They got it about as 'right' as they do everything else.
Yeah, I know this thread will prolly be deleted.

That picture in the paper makes it like that they are about to kiss!

Maybe they decided that it was not in their best interests to work together if they were going to be romantically involved.

Yeah, that didn't work out too well for someone else recently. Oh, that's right .. that was on-the-job-training. *smoooch*

Serves Edwards well! That`s what you get for image cropping.

WHAM-1180, the local Clearchannel radio station in Rochester, also headlined Gephardt as the VP choice on their morning news, citing the NY Post article.

Yeah, it does look like they're about to lock lips in that image.
