Well the BKSTS Cinema Techology finaly arrived (probablby the combination of the royal mail and canada post causeing the lengthy delay) and it contained the obit for Bernard Bentley
I will try to get it scanned later and posted but breifly Mr Bentley was the inventor of the Cinemation automation which was the first programable automation ever and very much coppied even in electonic versions today

Bernard was one of the nicest and most knowlegeable gentlemen it was ever my privilege to meet.

His first question upon entering our offices was usually "Where's the bottle?" He would then sit with us and discuss solutions to problems we hadn't even thought of yet.

I shall never forget Bernard Bentley’s extreme kindness and help when he gave me a 30 x 50 matrix board and diode pins as used on his Cinemation systems. I last saw Bernard with his wife Annette when they visited us at the cinema just before the closure. I feel privileged in my life to have known him.

My wife and I attended the funeral at St Mary’s Church Frimley Green.

There was also a tribute made in ‘Rewind’ the magazine of The Projected Picture Trust.
