Here you go Richard Greco! Clearly you live in the wrong state. might I recommend Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, D.C., Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Isnald, South Dakota, Vermont, or West Virginia?

I am wondering what the deal is with Washington. Look at the male-male and female-female sex chart. 16/18? Ummmmm, does that denote "top" vs. "bottom"? [Big Grin]

By the way, what's wrong with New Mexico??? I guess they like to promote experimentation.

Either that or it's a novel approach to reducing the level of teenage pregnancies.

What's the deal with Oklahoma? Do those entries mean that gay sex is illegal if you're over 16?

You see, I'm totally within the laws of Florida. Hilary Duff is 16, Lindsay Lohan is 18, and the Olsens are 18. But the thing is, the only chance I will ever have with any of them is if I was the last guy on Earth.

I bet Phil really is interested in that middle column [Eek!]

I was surprised to see that homosexual relations are still illegal in many states. What business does the government have with regulating who is grabbing whose ass as long as both asses are old enough and consenting?

Dan - are you kidding? California really is very heavy regulated in many things. Take the whole no smoking inside-no drinking outside-everything shuts down at 2am thing. I find it strange that they have to regulate smoking in bars/restaurants by law. If the majority of people don't want to smoke in a restaurant, then they should leave it up to the owners to decide if they want to allow smoking in their place. Then the non-smokers go to the place where there is no smoking, and the smokers go to the place where it is allowed.
It really is a pity, with the optimum weather all year around, they could have the greatest outdoor nightlife here.

Considering the chart as being not so much about what people should or should not be doing but rather what do you want to throw people in jail for I would say 16 seems about right. It would seem a bit ridiculous to grant people the right to endanger the lives of many total strangers on the highways but forbid them to have sex and whatever risks that may entail.

There's a little phrase I invented called "that fails the hand test." It keeps me out of trouble. And I mean really bad kind of trouble, not the "good" kind. I live in a decent neighborhood, but not far from here is a crappy, drug-infested area with lots of really ugly burnt-up hookers. The Lawton Police Department did a sweep of that area recently and arrested nearly 20 streetwalkers, ranging in age from 17 to 63. All I have to say to myself when I see one of them is "that fails the hand test."

Naturally, what I mean by that is there's a point where the woman is going to be ugly enough that you would rather do the solo thing with your hand instead. That's not to say I would frequent good looking prostitutes either. Just too much of a health risk. And besides, the good looking ones are just too damned expensive. Going broke also fails the hand test.

I'd be happy to do you a swap with the law here! All licensed premises (i.e. those that serve alcohol) have to close by 11pm (10.30pm on Sundays), but smoking is virtually unregulated, with the result that most pubs and bars are like gas chambers.

Leo,
You might like Utah in that aspect as you cannot smoke inside ANY public place, apartmant building, office building, etc. The brew here is a tad on the weak side by law but there is lots of really good micro brewerys and I think our 5000' altitude more than makes up for the lower alcohol content but you feel about the same here as you would having drank the normal brew in Chicago or Wisconsin. And then there is always the Beer Nut thats right next door to CLACO where they sell plenty of high quality beer making supplies [beer] to brew yor own high octane stuff. When our customers ask for directions to the shop I always tell them to just look for the Beer Nut sign which is much larger than ours!!

Thats easy! Pubs are full of rowdy Europeans whilst a Bar is full of drunk unemployed Americans.

Richard Greco Sauve, you know, judging by that description, it is possible that you still may not have had sex. Very easy to mistake one of her folds for you know what.

Also I am sorry that you won't be able to enjoy the pleasures of man - man sex in the state of Florida. Time to move, Richard, and expand your sexual pool to include both sexes and you can increase your chances. [evil]

P.S.: For the states which have 16 as the age of consent, it is possible that under 18, there may be an age differential to account for. Or it may apply only to the ones with the 16/18 markings.

Ages on Chart:
Ages are shown on the chart in different ways. For instance

16 / 17 means that we have documentation to show that the age is 17, but we have unusual reasons for continuing to show 16 on the age chart.

17 means that we have documentation under the state or country name confirming that the age is the number shown in bold red.

17 means that we have documentation under the state or country name confirming that the age is the number shown in red but we are concerned about whether our interpretation is accurate.

16 means that we do not have any documentation but that we believe this to be the valid age. The age is in black.

16? means we do not have any support what-so-ever about the age and have located this information through un-supported emails or heresay. The age is in black and/or a question mark exists.

illegal means that this is illegal regardless of age

Using one's brain is the highest calling but if one is forced to rely on physical labor to earn one's keep I'm not sure why being a ditchdigger is considered honorable work but being a whore, stripper, or porn performer is sleazy and horrible. Both exploit the person's body. What is it about sex that causes the rules that apply to every other aspect of behavior and society to be tossed out?

Much to his disappointment, I have to put an end to his constant drooling about all the fun things in life whether it be me or the work I do.

The ONLY thing I do "professionally" in that particular line of "work" is produce, direct, and film/tape.

I know he will be disappointed... but Hey! It pays very, very, VERY well and allows me much free time as well as the resources to do things I enjoy without some asshole boss yapping at me.

Steve's comment reminds me of an observation on living life that I happen to agree with very much. From The Notebooks of Lazarus Long, a pair of "intermissions" within Robert Heinlein's 1973 classic Time Enough for Love:
quote:
A whore should be judged by the same criteria as other professionals offering services for pay -- such as dentists, lawyers, hairdressers, physicians, plumbers, etc. Is she professionally competent? Does she give good measure? Is she honest with her clients?

It is possible that the percentage of honest and competent whores is higher than that of plumbers and much higher than that of lawyers. And enormously higher than that of professors.

I think the problem we have with prostitution stems from a number of old-fashioned "values" that some of us still cling to, whether we realize it or not:

1. It was believed that women weren't supposed to work for a living in the first place.

2. Women were considered "ruined" if they had lost their virginity prior to marriage.

3. Women were not supposed to "enjoy" sex. Rather, it was considered a "marital duty."

Hence, prostitution flies in the face of all of these ideals.

A fourth presumption is that sex is always fun and that there is never any compromise involved. This is clearly a lie. We have sex for all sorts of reasons apart from how much "fun" it can sometimes be.

And then there's that wonderful notion that sex should only happen when two people are "in love."

Or, my personal favorite, "sex is for procreation only."

Yeah. Right. Whatever.

The reality is that we have all kinds of practical uses for sex...

A lot of guys go out and look for sex because they're angry or frustrated and "need to vent." Or they're trying to "keep their numbers up" in order to maintain a reputation as a stud. Maybe they're sleeping with tons of women in an all-out bid to prove that they're not gay.

Some women have more sex than they'd ordinarily care for because they fear their husband might start roaming if they ever refused. Or, maybe they're making an all-out bid for the Hawaiian vacation this year. Many an orgasm has been faked for a worthy cause.

So we can see that our decisions to have sex can be -- and quite often are -- motivated by factors outside of love and/or hormonal activity. Sometimes we use sex to get at its byproducts. In the case of prostitution, the byproduct is money.

That's where "the hand test" idea can be a good thing. Besides, usually the joke is on the one with seemingly low standards, not the one he boinked.

Maybe I'm a little old fashioned, but I'm not going to sleep with a woman unless I would be willing to have a relationship with her (as well as be seen in public together). The tables of sexual power are turned where I live (since there are a lot more men than women here). So the once in awhile encounters I get are one time events typically by the lady's choice.

Lots of people are just weak, and to be pretty hard about it, moral cowards. Rather than tough it out alone, they'll string someone along with a series of encounters even though they don't care about that person. More harmful are those relationships made out of convenience. One of my best female friends is in a dead end relationship with a guy keeping his exit path open. It's obvious he's just using her for physical release until something "better" comes along.

I tend to agree with Rachel here. The girl and/or her mom may well have been fat and skanky but the inference that she was skanky because she was fat is a bit unfair. If overweight is unattractive to you that's fine and you'll have millions of others agreeing with you. But how about putting it in the same perspective as not caring for red hair etc.?

This is true. Very often people are not honest about their intentions when they want to have sex with someone. Everyone has to keep their cards close to the vest in an attempt to get what they want out of the encounter, be it money, commitment or any other number of things. It seems very rare for two people to mutually agree they only want to casually screw with no strings attached.

The kind of people who piss me off in this situation are those who will have meaningless sex with someone even though they know fully well they're going to hurt them in the process. The thing about this that makes me angry is how they turn it around to make it the other person's fault: "that's her problem that she got her heart broken." Anyone with that attitude deserves a nasty case of herpes and have everyone know about it. I despise cruelty.

You must have had a very sheltered upbringing if you didn't already know that little factoid just from seeing them in the laundry etc.

Edit:
OK, now that I think about it I don't know my mother's size either...but I wouldn't be OMG about it.

One thing I've heard said is It's not who you know - it's who you blow!

Unless laws have been changed, oral sex is still illegal in 25 states.

I don't know which ones are the other 24, but I know that Maine is one of the 25.
Plenty of people disregard that law, and enjoy it - sometimes as much as the person on the receiving end. [evil]

Gracia, I guess you couldn't see the tee-vee while you were, um, down there but the Supreme Court overturned its own 1986 decision and struck down a Texas gay sodomy law last November and it's presumed that this is applies to straight couples as well. I believe Maine's law was changed back in 1976.

Tuesday, November 18, 2003 Posted: 11:00 AM EST (1600 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Supreme Court Thursday struck down a Texas state law banning private consensual sex between adults of the same sex in a decision gay rights groups hailed as historic.

The 6-3 decision by the court reverses course from a ruling 17 years ago that states could punish homosexuals for what such laws historically called deviant sex.

Legal analysts said the ruling enshrines for the first time a broad constitutional right to sexual privacy, and its impact would reach beyond Texas and 12 other states with similar sodomy laws applied against the gay and lesbian community, and into mainstream America.

"The petitioners are entitled to respect for their private lives," Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote for the court's majority. "The state cannot demean their existence or control their destiny by making their private sexual conduct a crime."

As recently as 1960, every state had an anti-sodomy law, according to The Associated Press. In 37 states, the statutes have been repealed by lawmakers or blocked by state courts, the AP reported.

Of the 13 states with sodomy laws, four -- Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri -- prohibit oral and anal sex between same-sex couples. The other nine ban consensual sodomy for everyone: Alabama, Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah and Virginia.

Thursday's ruling apparently invalidates those laws, as well. CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said the decision appeared to strike down most laws governing private sexual conduct, but he said laws governing marriage would be unaffected. (Full story)

Laws that might be most vulnerable would be ones that govern fornication and adultery, said Diana Hassel, associate professor of law at Roger Williams University.

And while Hassel said "only a handful" of states remain still have such laws, Thursday's Supreme Court ruling establishes a benchmark in privacy that had not existed.

Hassel said the ruling, based on due process arguments rather than equal protection laws, would push out new areas in privacy. "This is going to carve out protection for private sexual behavior," Hassel said. "As long as it's between consenting adults, this ruling would appear to cover it."

Richard's tells his dad who he has sex with. His mom tells all of Wal-Mart her bra size. Richard has his eyes on girls who are underage. Looks like their family gene pool could use a filter. [Big Grin]

Oh quit ragging on the guy. "Underage" is an artificial concept of fairly recent origin. He's admiring fully developed women not undeveloped girls which means he is responding as nature intended.

The thing about this that makes me angry is how they turn it around to make it the other person's fault: "that's her problem that she got her heart broken."
But it is. People should be able to decide who they are going to bed with. If they want more than a casual encounter, then they should check the person they are exchanging body fluids with more closely. But then they spread their legs for anyone who gives them a few compliments in the vain hope that they are "appreciated" because they have such a low self-esteem. My opinion is, everyone gets what he/she deserves. And shouldn't complain about it afterwards.
Reminds me of an ex-girlfriend of mine who always complained that men are all assholes. That's probably why she liked me too. But when treated nicely for a change, she would get aggressive, probably because she felt that she had to pay men back. I don't know what became of her, but I used to see her in bars after we split up, every time with another guy who tried to impress her and make her believe he is really cool. She probably believed every single one of them, at least until the next day. I don't even remember her last name anymore.

The problem is that would only stand a slim chance of working in a perfect world.

First thing, when it comes to sexual conduct many people lie because they are only thinking about what they can get for themselves out of the encounter. My opinion, if you cannot think about the needs of the other person, you probably should not fuck them.

Second thing, someone who is lonely or is in a bad situation will have their judgment clouded about the person trying to take them to bed. This is where a little thing called "personal responsibility" comes into play. If all you want is to screw this girl and throw her away, but you have an idea she wants something more serious, then you don't need to go through with it. If you do, then her broken heart is indeed all your fault.

One of my friends complained to me about this lady who was upset and calling him all the time. My response: "you stuck your dick in her; deal with the consequences."

Most of us are assholes. We often take what we want without any regard to how it affects others. American culture glorifies this kind of thing to a very sickening extreme, especially when it comes to violent behavior.

And women can be predatory assholes too. I know I've been through some emotional hell over it. The women, at least in my part of the world, are becoming just like men. They hold the real purse strings on sexual power anyway. There's no such thing as a "perfect man," so lots of women take the salad bar approach and use several guys at once for a composite of that perfect fellow. So many women have tried to put me in "the friend zone" that it just pisses me off anymore. I already have enough close female friends, and the ones I have are either married or in committed relationships. The other so-called female friends just cock-block you from being able to meet a woman who actually wants to have something more to do with you than some phoney "friendship."

The photo Steve uploaded may actually be real.

Phil's street sign photo looks obviously altered. For one thing, the correct font is not used and doesn't even match perspective correctly.

The lettering on the signs in Steve's photo use the correct FHWA Series C Gothic letter style, commonly in use on street signs. The lettering matches perspective as well as lighting. If this photo is an alteration, whoever did it did a damned good job at it. Another thing that can argue for Steve's photo being real is not all street name signs have block numbers on them.

His image IS real and it's located in Manhattan, NYC. But, you simply won't believe what yet another street one-block north is named! Truly a trifecta! [Eek!]

I'm guessing that's probably Holy Trinity Church in the background of the pic. ??
