Super-16. At least Super-16 really is an improvment...Super-35, while does have more area, is poorly defined and tends to use less film than when actual anamorphic lenses are used...for Super-35 1.85 then it can be an improvement...still Super-16 is overall superior unless you want to project it.

Florida: Major Disaster OR General Fuck-Up?

Unfortunately, thanks to Charley, a major disaster in some areas of Florida. My sympathies go out to those affected by the storm.
Regarding CFLs, Phil, the problem is with the dorks that use the "straight" CFLs in cans. If they had used the type with the coiled tube or the ones enclosed in a glass outer bulb, that wouldn't be a problem. Newer ones are so compact they even fit in small spotlight-style fixtures. OTOH, they are a pain to use with motion detector switches...

Never having bore a child, but getting kicked or hit in the nuts a few times, lends me to believe that child birth would hurt more.
(I do say that having had both gallstones and kidney stones, the later of which many doctors and women have told me replicate the pains of child birth. No matter HOW you put it, they both hurt like a futher mucker!).

The A77 for sure. I used to work for an audio servcie center in which we were authorized service for both those brands. The A77 was hands down the better deck with far better electronics and a Pabst outer rotor drive motor. The Otari decks were always hissy.

Police Squad for sure as I grew up with my Dad, and Cousin in the local police department. They all have stories to tell just like some that happened in the movie(really). I learned photgraphy from my dad who was in charge of the darkroom work and crime scene photos. Those accident photos back then were bad..... no safety glass in autos in them days.

I used to repair Scopics when I worked at Canon USA. They were built pretty well although not as beefy as the B&H. It did have great optics and 400 foot magazine capabilities in the 16M model. There were also attachments to make the lens more wide angle attachments(aspheric W.A. attachment) and extended telephoto attachments.

Color television does not use greater bandwidth than monochrome. Note that there is luminance detail out beyond the frequency of the color subcarrier which is why better tv's use comb filters to recover it for added sharpness.

The bandwidth of an antenna is not necessarily directly related to what is on the signal it is receiving but as to the frequency(s) it is designed to operate at.
You'd be hard pressed to find a color tv that has an actual video bandwidth very much in excess of the 3.58 chroma subcarrier frequency although some direct view tvs can make it to 4 mhz with difficulty. Even studio type color monitirs with extremely fine pitch phosphor screens have difficulty at 4.2 mhz! Thats one reason why you'll always find several good b&w monitors in video facilities. The designed in video bandwidth in color TVs is in most cases related to the pitch of the phosphor on the screen since that is what actually determines the displayed bandwidth or highest frequency that can be displayed. CRT type color projection and B&W sets can have a much wider overall video bandwidth then direct view color sets since they have in essence a one piece phosphor screen, they are only limited by the electron beam spot size. Digital Television remedies the limited video bandwidth problem but you are still ultimately limited at the highest displayed frequency by the phosphor pitch, LCD pitch, electron beam spot size, etc.

HDTV, because very few know how to run and treat 35mm anymore. Plus for older movies it is far better than the typical flat Dolby A or mono prints you can come across (especially since most HDTV versions have been remastered into 5.1).
