Hi I'm searching a projection Academy leader file (you know: numbers decrease in a circle with a bar circling like a clock indicator 7,6,5,4,3,...) in MOV or AVI or any other video format for a windows system. I need this for a video movie project (non commercial). I can't find it on the web... So help please, if you know where to find this file.
PS my video format is PAL 720x576

Those are not technically "Academy" leaders. They are the SMPTE "Television Release Prints" leaders, made per standard SMPTE 55-2000. Kodak FPC sells them:

The master postitives are available from the SMPTE as "Universal Leader" 35-UL:

The current theatrical projection leader is 35-PL, and masters are also available from the SMPTE, and standardized by SMPTE 301M.

An MPEG file of a Technicolor labs Academy leader can be downloaded from the Rick Prelinger collection here. Alternatively, if you have Adobe Premiere version 6 or 'Pro', you can generate a leader which is very similar to an SMPTE leader simply by selecting file - new - countdown leader.

While I *NOW* know why the numbers "6" and "9" were printed with "six" and "nine" for technical readability reasons, I still get embarrassed whenever I see that or the words "HEAD" or "TAIL".

It must be a hidden memory of some weird thing I learned from a priest when I was an altar boy.

I used Premiere to generate a leader for you in the PAL format you requested. It's on my website, but I can only use the website space for this project for a few days. Each file is a little over 5 megs.

Black and white version - download the file http://www.goodmagic.com/leader/leader.avi

A blue version is http://www.goodmagic.com/leader/leader-blue.avi

Please let me know when you have received them.

Anyone else who needs NTSC version(s), ask.
