Alot of people contribute to this site, some more than others and some in differing ways than others. There are those like myself that try to contribute technically or you might be a moderator like Madam Rachel, you might post sarcastic comments, or just simple questions, but you all as a whole make up this site. In an effort to make it clear to newcomomers to this site..... what exactly do each of you contribute here?

I'll bite first.

I waste some bandwidth and offer general insight and personal opinion/obervation based on my experiences in theatre management on a day to day basis.

I get so much more from the forum than I contribute no doubt.

I used to contribute to the technical answers more than I do, because I've been out of the engineering business for a couple of years now. Today, as I lose topical ground, my ability to offer current information has waned.

Instead, I find myself hanging around more in Yak, offering snide comments and nonsense.

Without the other 2470 members, this site would be very boring and unattractive. The "fab 4" members would have nobody to help and Film-Tech's forums would be without real value.

What I used to contribute: Questions, help, movie reviews, photographs & humor.

What I contribute now: Static, according to at least one member.

As far as technical contributions, sadly I cant help much on that, but I'm working on it.

-I put the Chairman's sense of humor on it's monthly test
-I envy those members, able to be as sarcastic as I'd like to
-I enjoy lerning from many wise answers, some very experienced techs share with us all
-I smile, when the wisest now and then nearby fight over who IS number one
-I do try to learn some more english. -You just try learning danish, and You'll understand the difference !
-I tried to learn The Chairman to love the Philips DP70, but gave up for obvious reasons, which Mr Hill would be better to point ut, if he'd joined those special treads

Not being a film handler myself, but interested in film projection and quality film presentation, I generally just ask dumb-ass outsider questions that probably cause much rolling of eyes and teeth gnashing amongst many here. I also let everyone know on a regular basis how the local Regal and Cinemark are doing ( ). I used to make lots of posts that were just comments on other people's posts (kind of like this one) but I try to keep that to a minimum now.

What do I contribute? Let's see:

I like to get on my soap box from time to time so I can whine about lots of different issues (like bringing back 5/70mm production, the marketing lies in shooting movies on videotape, DTS vs. Dolby Digital vs. SDDS, etc.). Sometimes I gripe about movie issues only I would care about -like the overuse of the font Trajan in movie titles!

Sometimes I might say something funny, or stupid, or both.

On occaision, I'll post some cool artwork. Or even redesign the look of the FilmGuard bottle!

Hey Joe, don't forget the favicon? in the address bar. I really disliked this site until it had that little FT in the address bar.

As for me, well I have no expert knowledge on any subject and the things that I do know, noone cares about. I think that my best contribution so far was this thread.

Plus, I tend to be an easy target to make fun of so I guess that makes people laugh.

I'm here to meet guys , bother the out of some of you , and close threads sometimes.

I USED to contribute mostly in the Ground Level, Trailer/Print info, Reviews, and Yak but being out of a theater for the moment I only post a small amount in anything but Yak. Man, I really do miss managing a theater!

I also READ about all the projection "stuff" but it doesn't stay with me long, I can thread the damn things without scratching any film and tend to be very lucky with everything running ok but...yeah...that's about it. JK! Kinda...

Oh yeah, I'm also here to be Chipper and keep everyone from fighting, I'm one of the few active women/girls/chicks/chicken heads/biatches (whatever floats your boat), and I tend to use a mass amount of smilies!

Basically thats all I do to contribute.

Since I own a small town theatre, I hope to contribute from that perspective. We may not be as big, but the mission is the same: To put on a good show.

As a long-time member here, my other functions have included: Marveling at Phil's ability to plumb the sex-related depths of virtually any topic; ranting about the wrong-ness of illegally downloading songs off of the internet; being cranky about mis-spelled words and names; and representing the great state of Montana with the hope of debunking the myth that we're all farmers, Unabombers, gun nuts or tree huggers.

I contribute mostly to Film-Yak with the odd comment, sarcastic remark, or superfluous observation; and really wouldn't be missed if I refrained. And I've never been known to be self-depricating.

My name will pop up more often in the fairly recent LARGE FORMAT forum than the main Film-Handler's one, seeing as Brad wanted to segregate all us high-and-mighty "big" film workers and our sufficiently enlarged egos away from the sane people.

But I don't mind ... mostly I'm here to meet girls. However, nobody knows this yet, so I better not tell anyone. (That's not really a contribution ... or IS it? )

I plan to contribute some phiggidy phatness in the near phuture, as soon as I phigure out what the phuck it means!

My list of what I contribute both past, present, future and past...

Movie Reviews ,I am the only reviewer that seriously never gets tired of movies, so I cannot ever truly hate any movie unless it truly really sucks.. such as "Idle Hands".

Political Threats ,I have threatened to run for Governor of Utah and I will, I repeat I will threaten again!

Sensible Sensibility ,When all chaos raines I bring order to the universe. For instance there was this time at band camp

Thomas P. (however you spell his name) ,I bring him to the table. For without my postive ionic influence in the universe, there would be no evil in the world.

MEMEMEMEME ,FilmTech would be what without me? Well it would just go on and PRETEND to not care, but I know they all love me.

In summation, I actually bring nearly 20 years of relative business management and some of that actually in film presentation. I bring more than 15 THOUSAND movies viewed in my lifetime, and some of those were kind of good. I am also a stickler for perfect presentation and have a habbit of pointing out your projection foibles if I happen to be in your theater. But I do this for love of movies, not because I hate you. I hate you all on my own time.
