Hey all, please help me!

I'm getting ready to write my thesis for school and I have an online survey going. Please, anyone that has an extra 5 minutes answer the questions on my survey, I will be eternally grateful (for about 2 minutes). [Razz]

The questions are about perceptions of cosmetologists. I know, not the most interesting but hey, it's what I'm going to school for! And yes, believe it or not, you have to write a thesis for hairdressing school!!! [Big Grin]

Don't apologize Rachel, when I graduated from Princeton my senior thesis was titled "The National Biscuit Company as an illustration of the rise of enlightened capitalism; 1895-1915"--not exactly a topic on everyone's tongue!

Well, at least your thesis would be interesting. Having the survey about perceptions of cosmetologists taken by mostly males. Who would most likely prefer to pay nothing for a hair cut.

Actually it has been most of the women so far saying it is overpriced and the men are saying its not. [Smile]

I'll post the results here when the survey is done, it'll be a while yet.

I took the poll too, though I fear my answers might grossly disfigure the final result.
I was confused by the question if I thought that most male hairdressers were gay...I thought that was a job requirement for men in that profession.

Maybe women are fussier judges of what is and isn't a good haircut? Personally I don't care if they cut my hair with a Flymo and leave me looking like a hedgehog, just as long as I don't have to wait for ages and leave the place without any blood on the floor.

I never go to a salon, I just cut my hair every 8 weeks with my "Flowbee".

did your survey. Isn't there a difference between a barber and a hairstylist? I go to a barber and avoid those chain operations. My barber actually uses a straight razor and gives a neck and back massage before he uses it. Is that pretty common?

The only real difference is who that cater to. In *MOST* states barbers have to go through the exact same classes as hairdressers, they have to learn color, perms, facials, pedicures, etc. Actually my plan is to become a barber, not a hairdresser.

Not that I know of unless you are paying for a scalp treatment...? Maybe it's just something that Barber shop does to bring clientle in, or maybe he just likes you! [Razz]

You aren't the only one who did that. I took it as haircuts in salons are too expensive and thats why you get haircuts at home. [thumbsup]
