Is there any Film Tech members in the Memphis area. I will be there for the next 4 weeks and hopefully have time to get out and about and would like to meet any members in the area.

well guys and gals I havebeen in Memphis since last Sunday. I am in training to be a camera repair tech for the cameras they use during the planned nuclear outages to inspect the welds. The camers are subject to hot water and varying degrees of radiation and my job is to make sure all the B&W and color cameras are ready to use and repair as needed. They are going to a DVD recorder also to record the weld images and have for future backup. I have a lot to learn but a interesting job it is going to be. I guess there is no techers in Memphis I hope to go to a movie this weekend, during the week we work 5 - 12 hr days.

Be sure to take in some of the good Bar-B-Que restaurants they have there... and go for a tour of Elvis's Boeing 707 while you're at in town. Not much else to do there unless you're working on a thats film being shot.
