OK, I know I should lose some weight, so I shouldn't go to fast food places in the first place. But sometimes when you work through the night and drive home when others go to work, you just need a little bite to restore some of your energy, so you pull into a drive-thru and look at the breakfast items on the menu. After the considerable language barrier between you and the Spanish-only-speaking guest service representation expert has been bridged and the order handed over, you drive off and sink your teeth into the McGriddle, sausage, bacon, cheese and egg - IN A SWEET SYRUPY-FLAVORED BUN?????
[Eek!]

Who comes up with stuff like that? Do some people actually like it?

I have to agree with you on this one...

A) it's just about the most unbalanced meal you can eat(other than Hardy's new 1600 calorie burger)

B) it just tastes like sickly sweet crap

I tried this once many months ago when they first came out with it. All I have to say is NASTY! There's something really wrong with that concoction.

I tried one of these when they first came out, too. The only way I can describe the taste is "the end of a normal breakfast" at a real restaurant or at home...

The end where the plate is covered with egg yolk, theres a part of a sausage link, a flick of bacon and a taste of a pancake left. Scoop everything up onto the fork, smother it in the yolk and you have the McGriddle flavour! [puke]

I'm obviously in the minority - but these things kick ass.

Of course, I am partial to the maple syrup ... I won't eat anything other then pure maple on my pancakes or waffles.

I have stopped eating mcdonalds completely. The only thing that I could still eat from there are there pancakes. As for burgers, sorry, I would rather go to wendy's and get real meat on my sandwich.

The first time I had one of these it was great as it was hot and freshly made. The second time I had one it tasted like it had been sitting there for a while and was only lukewarm and tasted bad. I dont eat this anymore with my new diet but I would describe it as ok.

I like the few others here actually like them...not all the time but once in a while is ok...but you have to get it with NO cheese...Sorry but cheese on a pancake is a big NO NO in my book. If I'm going to eat breakfast anyway, I'm going to BK, or a Sonic if we had one here. Gotta love the Breakfast Burrito at Sonic...mmmmmm long do I wish for the days of warm Arizona Mornings and a hot Sonic Breakfast Burrito. Now its Cold ASS Michigan mornings and luke warm BK.

The sausage-only McGriddle is OK considering its concept (a portable pancakes-and-sausage breakfast), but overpriced.

I don't have any problem with the taste so much. But the "bun" required more napkins than they usually, by default, supply you with. Aren't buns supposed to be dry? Too gooey for me.

There is nothing wrong with the Bacon McGriddle.

Tasty - tasty - tasty.

I understand it is the least healthy thing you could possibly buy from McDonalds, but oh dear do they hit the spot at 6am while I'm driving to work.

I need to try Chick-fil-A breakfast... I'm never awake early enough to try them whenever I'm near a CFA that serves breakfast.

McD's just rebuilt the location literally 100 yards from my house... and they are better than ever... It's also open 24/7 now..

All you people that claim the mixing of suasage, eggs pancakes and syrup must not realize that they all mix in the middle anyway... [Smile]

Me too!! McD's is nasty. I did, however, try this thing when it came out. I was partial to the sausage "Mc-skid-dle"....oh, I mean "griddle". Now just the .......thought ......oh no!!!

P.S.-Wendy's kicks ass down here in Ennis. They have the best food in town, next to the Drive-in of course. Anyone else like the caesar salad with ranch and pecans with a side of nuggets?

Several years ago, a friend had a birthday party... his dad was an exc at Mcdonalds, and got a box of (frozen) hamburger patties. We cooked them, and they tasted different: much better than what you get at the resturant. So our conclusion was that they 'kill' the burger during cooking, probably to insure all the germs are gone.

Wendy's? Ishhhh. All their food tastes like ass save the chili... which is ok with fries.

BTW, I do find that of all fast food joints, Wendy's, BY FAR, uses the most amount of salt on their fries..

As an expert on drive thru breakfast, I have to say that Burger King's Double Croisanwich is by far the best way to go.

First of all you get TWO meat choices, mix and match all you want, choose from sausage, bacon or ham. I usually go double bacon or double ham, but sometimes switch em up to have one of each.

BUT MAKE SURE they dont jip you on your double cheese, you get that too, but sometimes forget to add it. They love it when you insist you get it too. Love bieng told how to put cheese on ham.

Other than that, I do Arbys roast beef, with a side of potato cakes.

After that its fine restaraunts for dinner. You have to have SOME civilization in your day!

The only thing that pissed me off about McGriddles was that fact that their addition to the menu was concurrent with the removal of the Spanish Omelette Bagel from most McDonald's locations. That was my favorite.

Had one about half an hour ago... First bite was weird, then I got used to it... But before I knew it I realized it was getting "yukky", I could barely finish the thing I wanted to spit it out.

when I first tried them, I bought two b/c I thought they would be small.....after I ate 1 and 1/2, I passed out for 2 hours, then I woke up with a hangover.

I tried eating one a dew weeks ago, and it wasn't too bad, but I felt like complete shit afterwards. [Roll Eyes]

Well, all you McGriddle lovers should try the Jimmy Dean Griddle Cake Sandwiches. It seems to be the same concept as McDonald's McGriddles, except you can "find them in your grocer's freezer!"

You know, I thought that's what they were at first. However, I couldn't find anything on the internet. The Jimmy Dean things, now that I look at them, only have sausage. I'm pretty sure I've seen the commercials on TV for Aunt Jemima. They have the egg and cheese as well.
