This just came in over CNN. That Bob Denver has passed away (1935-2005) last Friday. He was 70 years old.

Bob "Gilligan" Denver brought a lot of happiness into my house as my kids were growing up.
They will all miss him as will my wife and I.
Tonight my Martini will be raised for him.

I used to watch "Gilligan's Island" as a kid, first-run and syndication. Later on, I got to absolutely hate the show. Then, when my nostalgia kicked in, I started watching, and enjoying it, again. I also used to watch Denver as Maynard on "Dobie Gillis."

Yes, lightning struck twice with Bob Denver - on "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" and later with "Gilligan's Island".
Although every episode was the same and you wanted to kill him after a while, 'Gilligan' was still a very funny show. In interviews, Denver seemed like such a kind soul, I am sorry to hear of his passing.
Thanks for the laughs, Little Buddy.
