It is streaming Windows Media video. The connection sucks and it freezes up all the time. How can I save it to my hard disk?

If you have a valid URL, you can "record" any streaming media to a video file. Check this out:
WM Recorder

The demo version limits your d/l time to 2 minutes (although, depending on your connection speed, you can capture streams of several minutes in length).

I thought there might be a trick or plug-in to make WMP save the file. 2 minutes only wouldn't really work well because the file is 45 minutes long. I tried some of the streaming media recorders listed here, but so far only with very limited success: HiDownload only saved half the file and then stopped (several times, although I don't think there is a limit, the trial version is supposedly fully functional for 50 days or so), MassDownloader got the whole file (350MB), but it doesn't play in WMP or WinAmp.

EDIT - this little free program here works without any problems.

You need to get hold of Ed Jurich, who knows how to sharpen files. He saved a couple of mine.
