Greetings everyone!

Just thought I'd post a bit of an introduction here.

I can't really say I'm a projectionist anymore since I haven't laced-up in over twenty years now - but some things within us are hard to die I suppose. I hope y'all don't mind me hanging around.

When I was a kid I always liked peeking into the booth at the drive-ins. I thought that had to be the coolest job - running big movie projectors. In the late seventies I finally got to "break-in" at the drive-in that I hung around at as a kid.

The Obi-Wan that broke me in went over to a new quad and I ended up with his booth at the drive-in. I ended up with his quad after he went down do Orlando when Disney opened up this new thing called "Epcot". Some of you know Bob Ray as I've seen his name mentioned on this forum on occasion.

Well, long story short, I left the business when they wanted to go manager-operator. I was offered the position but I wanted no part in managing high-school kids. I ended up working for the family business and later got my degree in mechanical engineering. Now I manage a bunch of people and wish I was back in the booth. I did get a letter from Disney to interview with them (thanks Bob) but I never wanted to leave the Pittsburgh area. BTW, where is the "headbang" graemlin when you need one?
