Simple question. If so, what's your reasoning to let it go in the shower? If not, why don't you?
(Yes I will answer after there have been a bunch of replies...trying not to skew the answers.)
Posted by Rachel Gilardi (Member # 1016) on 02-01-2006, 02:15 PM:
Honestly, have I ever? Probably when I was little...
But now, no... I've been in the shower with someone who peed though... that was not the most enjoyable experience of my life, how rude! Ewwwwwy.
I would assume it would be much more common for a guy to do this then a girl? Eh, who knows.
Brad, what's with the random question? I thought this was a teaser title! Is this some kind of trick question?

I ony pee in a shower when I am visiting a friend's house. Never in my own.
I sing in the shower all the time. I sing all the classic song's in the Joke Forum. And I never pee when I sing.

Sure, why not? It goes right down the drain anyway. I do not crap in the shower, however. (Or sing either, which in my case would be just as disgusting.)

Posted by Bobby Henderson (Member # 840) on 02-01-2006, 06:37 PM:
Sometimes.
However, I try to "jettison any #2 cargo" in the toilet before taking a shower. Any #1 will also be depleted in the process.
I hate to go #2 someplace else away from home during the day. Sometimes you could use half a roll of toilet paper and still not feel very clean. At least if the shower is there you'll have an alternative if you reach a judgment during a BM and mutter, "paper alone ain't gonna clean that!"
#1 in the shower should be the least of anyone's concerns. How many fellas rub out a "#3" in there?
Posted by Mark Gulbrandsen (Member # 72) on 02-01-2006, 07:42 PM:
Toilet first since there is usually a #2 accmpanied with the #1 first thing in the morning.... then the shower..... Since we are all in buisness and sometimes if nothing happens before the shower or if I leave earlier than normal and systems are still "off line" it can just wait till I get to work so I get paid for taking care of THAT buisness.....

Yep, have let loose a #1 in the shower on a few occasions.
And cut a few curtain rattlers as well.
#3 is really fun, especially with someone you love.

What a stange thread - donīt you have anything better to discuss? To give it some relevance to film I can tell you this.
In 1994 I visited San Francisco on a 70mm Promotion Tour and enjoyed the city. Did the usual visits to projection rooms with DP70s. The strangest thing was at the "Regency" (DP70 SN: 2356), I think the name was. There was a toilet right there - in the projection room - next to the projector.
Was that a toilet with projectors or a projection room with a toilet? Very convenient if you have to go and keep an eye on changeovers at the same time.
Even stranger was the projectionist, who was dressed up as a woman
- long hair and everything. What a bizzare experience.
The combined toilet/projection facility - is that common in the US?

Seriously guys, do you like standing in your own piss while you wait for it to swirl around the bottom of the shower and make it's way to the drain? Is it that hard to take care of business before or after the showering process? Apparently I'm in the minority on this one.
No wonder there is so much chlorine in public swimming pools!

Gord has one in the booth at Cinesphere next to IMAX system #1.
Also there is a convenient tube at just the right height attached to the fold down panel on IMAX 3D GT projectors that have hood mounted polarisers so you can pee while you thread!

To be quite honest I pee AFTER the shower... in the toilet. I think I have it in my mind that warm running water will only make me need to pee more, thus after the shower is the best time. Some people will scream "you are wasting water!" especially here in Colorado. These same people are the kind who only flush their toilet once per week. I have to flush the toilet 9 times during a single dump since they are so manly. 18 times if I am staying at Brad's place with his wimpy toilets.
I have never peed in a pool. I can always hold it. In fact there are times when I am clearly dreaming that I am taking a nice, long, relaxing piss. I wake up and realize that I need to pee BAD! But none has leaked out. Awesome. I am the king of pee restraint.
As for "#3", water is a horrible lubricant. I've tried to have sex in the shower a few times and it does not work well at all.

After doing some net research, I found two beneficial claims about peeing in the shower:
1. It supposedly kills foot fungus (not that there's an epidemic of this in everyone's tub).
2. It conserves water you would normally waste flushing the toilet, since you're already using the shower for cleaning yourself.

As far as having toilet facilities in the projection room, AFAIK, some building and fire codes required it, especially in the days of nitrate film when a skilled projectionist had to be present in the projection room at all times that film was running.
There's an old saying: "Clothes do not make the man (or the woman)".
I thought Europe was much more progressive in this regard. I'm visiting Germany next week, and a colleague visiting there had the experience of having a female attendant hand him a towel after he had washed his hands in the restroom. In Finland, I entered an airport restroom to find a woman maintenance person working on the plumbing -- she said to come in anyway, and went about her business as I did mine.

I think most try to aim for the drain. But even if you had to stand in your own piss (gross!) there probably wouldn't be any harm in it. Urine is sterile -at least from people in good health.
Another possible justification for peeing in the shower: morning wood. You can stand in front of the toilet waiting for however long it takes for the steel boner of fury to subside just enough so you can aim it at the bowl instead of the wall. It's easier to stand near the back of the tub and arc a stream into the drain.

I don't pee in swimming pools, but did it once at a public swimming pool when I was 4 years old. True story. A great deal of the family was there. I paddled over to my Uncle John and told him I needed to use to bathroom. He replied, "do it in the pool, everyone else does." So I climbed up the ladder, walked over and stood next to the edge, dropped my trunks and pissed right into the pool.
It's a good thing I didn't have to take a dump!

I wasn't talking about "going #3" with a female. Think American Beauty and Lester Burnham, "this will be the highlight of my day."

Well, I have on occasion - there's a drain there, and it's not like I won't be washing my feet anyway.
As for whizzing outside - I've got no qualms about that. In fact, I find it rather liberating.
Guys may have an easier time with aiming, but it's not impossible for us girls.

I'm surprised Mike Olpin hasn't come along to remind us all that "all drains lead to the ocean".
In San Diego County, only storm drains lead directly to the Pacific Ocean, not municipal sewer lines. When (and if) it rains, the runoff carries along a toxic stew of motor oil, tire dust, cigarette butts, animal waste, and Lord knows what else. No wonder beaches are closed to surfers and swimmers after a rainstorm.
Raw sewage is processed before discharging into the ocean, unless a pump failure occurs. Some of the "refined" sewage is purified to a level suitable for landscape irrigation for commercial users like golf courses and university campuses; to distinguish the so-called "reclaimed water" supply from potable water, plumbing systems and sprinkler heads must be color-coded lavender and "do not drink" signs must be posted.
Some time ago there was a push to process and ultra-purify "reclaimed water" to feed back into the regular city water system. The idea that tomorrow's drinking water once included yesterday's #1s and #2s was so off-putting that the idea was deservedly dubbed "toilet-to-tap" by its critics. Even though researchers proved toilet-to-tap water is safe, the repugnance factor has stalled its implementation.

There was an old rumor (that I can't confirm because it was before my time) that Mel Gibson peed in the hand sink in the booth at the theatre I worked at in Arizona after a public test screening of Braveheart. The theatre doesn't have any employee restrooms, and Gibson didn't want to get mobbed in the public restroom, I guess. Anyway, a few years later Gibson guest voiced an episode of the Simpsons (the Mr. Smith goes to Washington episode) where Gibson is test screening his new movie and he trys to sneak out the back door to pee in the alley. Coincidence?

A Female contributor to the joke forum asked that I post her feelings about Showers in this thread. If you read the joke forum you will recognize Diane from Reno.
How To Shower Like a Woman:*
Take off clothing and place it in sectioned laundry hamper according to lights and darks. Walk to bathroom wearing long dressing gown. If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas.> Look at your womanly physique in the mirror - make mental note to do more sit-ups/leg-lifts, etc. Get in the shower. Use face cloth, arm cloth, leg cloth, long loofah, wide loofah and pumice stone. Wash your hair once with cucumber and sage shampoo with 43 added vitamins. Wash your hair again to make sure it's clean. Condition your hair with grapefruit mint conditioner enhanced. Wash your face with crushed apricot facial scrub for 10 minutes until red. Wash entire rest of body with ginger nut and jaffa cake body wash. Rinse conditioner off hair. Shave armpits and legs. Turn off shower. Squeegee off all wet surfaces in shower. Spray mold spots with Tilex. Get out of shower. Dry with towel the size of a small country. Wrap hair in super absorbent towel. Return to bedroom wearing long dressing gown and towel on head. If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas.
*How To Shower Like a Man:*
Take off clothes while sitting on the edge of the bed and leave them in a pile. Walk naked to the bathroom. If you see wife along the way, shake wiener at her making the 'woo-woo' sound. Look at your manly physique in the mirror.> Admire your wiener and scratch your butt. Get in the shower.> Wash your face. Wash your armpits.> Blow your nose in your hands and let the water rinse them off. Fart and laugh at how loud it sounds in the shower. Spend majority of time washing privates and surrounding area. Wash your butt, leaving those coarse butt hairs stuck on the soap.> Wash your hair. Make a Shampoo Mohawk. Pee. Rinse off and get out of shower. Partially dry off. Fail to notice water on floor because curtain was hanging out of tub the whole time. Admire wiener in mirror again. Leave shower curtain open, wet mat on floor, light and fan on. Return to bedroom with towel around waist. If you pass wife, pull off towel, shake wiener at her and make the 'woo-woo' sound again. Throw wet towel on bed.
*If there is anyone among you who did not laugh at the truth behind this, there is something so very wrong with you.*
*Have a great day! And, "woo, woo"!*

Not sure why that upset yous all so much. Keep in mind that all sea life like fish, as well as water fowl, and water mammals as well as land animals taking a "bath" piss and crap in the water.
In the great lakes as well as the oceans and seas, most if not all water vessels dump all their raw human waste (piss & shit) directly over the side including food garbage and trash. It's common practice.
It's all called "nutrients" for the sealife.
Think about that the next time you're having that fish dinner...you may be eating a fish that ate someone's turd. (YUK!)

How to take a shower?
First, you wash as high as Possible.
Second, you wash as low as Possible.
Then, you wash Possible!

Finally... Of course, I pee in the shower.
But I have two rules:
1) I have to target the drain.
2) I can't use my hands.

Warning sign above the urinals in the pilot lounges at most airports: "All you pilots, taxi up close and hold short."

When you travel:
You know if all the urinals and water closets are taken you can always pee in the sink...right?

Well,
I don't know what the stupid/assinine point of this thread is, other than the new, official FT theme song being...."OH, GOLDEN SHOWER!"
Posted by Joe Redifer (Member # 3) on 02-04-2006, 09:44 PM:
What was the old official Film-Tech theme song?
Posted by Brad Miller (Member # 2) on 02-04-2006, 10:29 PM:
It was "Will is turning gay boys straight and straight women gay."
It has to do with his unbuttoned shirt. I'm sure Bob remembers the full lyrics since he sings it pretty much non-stop between martinis at ShoWest.

I hope you clowns are satisfied, now whenever I get in the shower I think of Film-Tech.
Posted by Brad Miller (Member # 2) on 02-04-2006, 10:54 PM:
That's the point! Well, actually the point is to make you think about Film-Tech whenever you pee in the shower, but I suppose this is just as good.
Now we need someone to start a thread about walking to the car.

Brad and Joe...Ha Ha Ha!
Maybe your favorite movie is "On Golden Pond"!

Do you pee in the shower?
The thought has never even crossed my mind. I never knew people did this before today.
But it doesn't strike me as bad as seeing perfectly able men walk out of the can after having taken a dump; right past the wash basin and out the door... into buffets, phone booths, handshakes, etc.

Only when im drunk out my head hehe,
Reminds me of something I saw from the famous Croydon drunken night-clubbing people recently; they tend to be going into clubs, fighting, vomiting, falling over in the road in front of a bus etc. at the same time as I'm going home after the last show.
Five young women, all of whom seem to have had far too much to drink. One of them urinates into a beer glass which she is holding, A second one watches her do this, then takes the glass from her, and drinks it, to loud cheers from the other three.
What is it about Croydon?

Another thing that comes into my mind:
When I was at the military, a guy went out one night, came back (drunk) and went to sleep. Suddenly he got up and peed in the middle of the room. Yes, that was a puddle
(yes that was in the room I was in!)
And he did it twice, though...
From another room I heard another story from a soldier
in the room...

Sometimes, it's fun to do a little experiment:
When you're in the can and somebody comes in after you, notice what happens if they can see you wash your hands or if you don't. (You can go back in and wash, later.)
It's funny how the percentage of people who wash after using the john goes up when somebody else in the room can be seen washing their hands.
There's also an effect that takes place with regard to the perceived status of the person washing vs. the person under observation.
If the person washing is better dressed or looks more important, the liklihood that the "subject" will wash. If the "washer" appears to have a lower status than the "subject" there is, sometimes, little difference in the chances he/she will wash.
It's a fun little experiment to try out, once in a while!

Guys may have an easier time with aiming, but it's not impossible for us girls.
Once in the early days of the Internet I landed on a feminist website* promoting pissing equality advocating women learn to pee standing up. Advantages are obvious when skiing, mountain climbing and traveling, for examples.
The website advocated mothers teaching their daughters the technique, explained several methods, and suggested those having dexterity problems practice aiming in the shower.
That recalled to mind one of my earliest memories. When I was very little, the neighborhood kids played in a vacant lot where we carved out a cave-like clearing in the underbrush as a playhouse, pretending it was a castle or pirate ship for our games. One little girl pissed from our playhouse in an arc that left the interior dry. She laughed with proud pleasure, having shown the boys she could equal or surpass their accomplishments in every respect.
*[I don't know if the website still exists, or if there are others like it...]

If there was Gerard, I would have thought that John P would have found it by now!
When I first visited Orlando some 15 years ago, I got lost late one night trying to find International Drive to get back to my hotel. Desperate for a leak I went behind a closed gas station, during which I heard lots of girls laughing loudly. My immediate reaction was, am I being watched on CCTV? I hurried back to my car, and much to my amazement I saw, they were also peeing away on the forecourt, which looked as though a water main had burst!!! Absolutely a true story!
We used to get a young female occasionally in our cinema that would never use the cubicles, and she obviously got pleasure by always peeing on the floor. My wife and the staff were never able to catch her out red handed.

If someone pee'd in my cubicle I'd be pissed.

That settles it. The non-washers walk out all day in truck stops... even while I'm washing away. So that's trucker status, I guess.

Peeing in the shower....I don't do it routinely. If I happen to have the urge to go when I am going to the shower, I will stop at the toilet and piss there. But, many times I will not feel any urgency to go UNTIL I run the shower water and that triggers the urge. Well, I am not going to leave the shower water running to go back to the toilet. I get in the shower and like most have said, I do aim for the drain. But it's true; urine is generally sterile more so than what comes out of the household tap.
For those who are grossed out by piss in the shower, at college the common bathrooms were at the end of a long hall. On the other hand, every room had a sink. My first roomate was this big Junior. I couldn't believe it when he just whipped it out and pissed right in the sink the very first night I was there. For the rest of the semester I couldn't wash in the morning until he left for class and I had time to wash the bowl out with Comet (with bleach) a few times so I could wash and brush my teeth.
Finally as I got to make friends, I told another student, a sophomore, how I really couldn't believe he pissed in the sink like ALL the time. I said I wasn't quite sure how to tell him that I wish he'd stop. The older guy kind of looked at me as if I was some kind of wussy mama's boy. I thought he was going to berate me for not just being tough enought to tell him outright that I wanted him to stop. Instead he said, "What's the hell's the big deal? Everyone pisses in the sink."
At the time I was going to school, this was an all male college so I guess the taming influence of that females normally have on guys was missing and we just didn't care. It took me to the end of my freshman year before I just said, what the hell, I have to wash the damn thing with Comet anyway, I might as well use it myself. So you can see, after four years of that, peeing in the shower is a piece of cake.
And of course it's just a fact that at my school there was LOTS of very heavy drinking.
And believe me when I tell you, drunk guys at that age seem to think it's ok to piss pretty much wherever they happen to be standing, even if it's next to you or on the floor in the middle of the adminstration building rotunda....off the balcony....down four flights (yah, my roomate).
As for a kid taking a dump in the ocean, if you think that is disgusting....think WHALES. Hey....they don't just make those singing noises!

Yes, I pee in the shower, but why stop at aiming for the drain. A good marksmen never passes on an opportunity to hone his skills
Someday, I'm going to piss from the top of a 1000' tower

VERY FUNNY Phil....but now I understand why you want everyone to use urinals.
Posted by Robert Burtcher (Member # 3227) on 02-11-2006, 04:01 PM:
To be perfectly honest, I don't see what the big deal is, as long as you're still washing. Urine is sterile anyway (in almost all cases, I believe), so it's not like you're gonna die if some gets on you.
For the record, I do aim for the drain if I have to go, but I usually take care of it before I get in the shower.
