He was an incredible talent in the business, and a very good friend. He did alot more than Hee-Haw.
He will be missed.

Don't you mean Buck Owens??

Yeah, it was Buck Owens who passed. He died at his California home at the age of 76.

I imagine Dwight Yoakum would want to be there at Owens' funeral.

No... Roy hasn't died, too, has he? Let's not put him away before his time.

So the bogus "Garth Brooks" thread has been deleted, but not this one. This place is getting wierder all the time.

It was just 10 days ago that I videotaped a presentation at his Crystal Palace unveiling a Buck Owens children's book written by staffers of the school district I work for. Click here to read about the event and watch the short video.

Hmmmm seeing as the thread that was locked was posted before this one I don't understand why all the extra editing had to occure. [Roll Eyes] But there is the link I posted above with the news artical.

Because all the posts were in this thread. If there were more posts in the other one then this one would have got the lock.

I'd like to thank Aaron for changing my initial posting. I got my information from ABC NewsRadio on Saturday. I called other friends who knew nothing about it. I finally got thru to someone that verified that Roy Clark is OK. Too bad about Buck Owens, though. He had a long career. Rest In Peace, Buck.

Do you know Roy personally, Bruce?

I met him during the early Hee Haw days in Nashville at WLAC-TV. He and a longtime friend of mine have known one-another for over 40 years. He's into old tube electronics, and we've been friends thru that. Really down to earth guy. So was Buck Owens.
