Hi all

TCM aired their 2002 documentary about cinema shorts last night.

Anyhow, their was some concentration on the Warner Vitaphone studios.

As part of the documentary, they interviewed a projectionist/cinema owner (?) unsure of who he is because he is uncredited. This individual ran a sound-on-disc performance w/ WE U-Bases, c/a & c/o in operation. The interview/demo took place in what looked like a restored Fox West Coast restored movie palace. They briefly flashed the guys name, I think it was Don Nicholson or something like that.

Does anyone have any more infor on this?

I reviewed the TCM infor in your posted link before starting this thread. I did not see any info posted about the movie palace or projectionist in the listed credits.

That feature length documentary is included on the second disc of "The Laurel & Hardy Collection (TCM ARCHIVES)DVD That's the DVD release with "Bonnie Scotland" and "Devil's Brother" coming out April 18th, 2006 from Warner Bros., not the Fox boxset released last week.

The persons name in question is Ron Hutchinson, Vitaphone Historian, The Vitaphone Project.

Ron Hutchinson is credited in the thank you section as is the Loew's Jersey Theatre.
