What can I say? I live in a horse town. Some folks think they're cute. They're just not "cuddly cute" like all those puppies and kittens.

Here's a horse that's not necessarily cute, but it's a cuter picture than that last one.

That "fugly thing" eating it's own foot is a purebred Chinese Crested Hairless dog named Sam. He passed away due to kidney failure on Friday, November 18, 2005. In his lifetime, he was proclaimed the "World's Ugliest Dog" 3 years in a row (2003, 2004, and 2005).

When I moved about 5-years ago, I saved all my saltwater aquarium stuff (except the tank itself...and of course the animals/fish), filters, coral, etc. from my 150 gal tank.

Like my home screening room/theatre, someday I will set it back up!

The UPS is actually for the filter, not the lamp. If the power goes out and you don't have one on the filter the fish will die pretty quick.

I only have a ten gallon tetra tank right now. I was planning on setting up at least a 150 gallon saltwater tank, maybe up to 250. I was going to do that in the next couple weeks but my old truck is starting to fall apart on me and it looks like I'll have to get a new car soon. So, it may not be wise to spend $1500 on a setup right now.

It just runs this thread. Each thread has its own server. Each time you start a new thread, a new server has to be built and put online to accomodate it. Each server has dual 200Ghz 128-bit Pentium 12 CPUs running Windows 98. Also each server has 64GB of RAM.

I just went to the Denver Zoo for the first time this week. I saw a polar bear doing some weird things. It kept walking backwards then forwards swinging its head from side to side. In any case I got some other shots that I thought belonged here...

My guess would be that those are some kind of Tamarin, possibly a gibbon. Here is a similar picture of a Tamarin baby.

You can find them in South American rainforests. Let me know how it goes.

Ferrets are cute, and I love their personality. The do stink though, and I'm told if you try to wash them, even with the special shampoo, it causes their glands to produce the musk faster, and therefore making them stinkier, quicker. I guess it's something you'd eventually get used to. I also adore skunks, they are quite pretty, and also have wonderful personalities. I am told that they don't have quite the continual musk smell, that ferrets do, though they do have some. I'd like a classic black and white one, but they aren't allowed in georgia because its hard to tell if it's wild or not, if it gets out. So we can have just about every breed but that, and some pretty dark ones that are virtually undetectable from the black and whites.

Agreed, and personally I don't really find it funny, because the cat is clearly distressed. If it's done by CGI (e.g. that mobile phone ad with the cat swinging on the roof-mounted fan) then no problem, but when it's a real cat I don't like it. I suppose in a way that's double standards on my part, though, being a cat owner. There's an early experimental sound film called Gus Visser and his Singing Duck which I have no problem laughing at, even though it shows someone repeatedly sticking his finger up the duck's arse in order to make it 'quack'.

Cats' instinct is to chase and kill things that move. You throw the ball (object) and the cat's instinct makes it want to chase it and kill it. Once the cat has done so, it wants to chase it some more. Cats are smart enough to know that, if they return the NERF BALL to their human, he/she will throw it again.

So, in essence, the cat isn't entertaining you by fetching for you. It is USING you to entertain ITSELF! [Wink]

My friend Lynn's Manx cat named Hopper. Manx cats have no tail are are VERY agressive. He's definately a "watch cat"... he has tried repeatedly to remove one of my legs and petting him is all but impossible unless you want to loose fingers [uhoh]
