I had to change the original title of this thread. It didn't make much sense when I woke up. I must have done it in my sleep.

My normal TV show allotment isn't filling the bill. I am going to be undergoing a series of tests to see how badly my back is broken, and how much damage is done to the spinal cord. I am heavily doped up, so normal just doesn't cut it....

So far I have found Grounded for Life and Becker as the only two shows that feel intelligent.... keeping in mind the drugs I am on....

I would like some suggesstions of any kind....

Rescue Me and House are "guilty" pleasures? Those are fine programs, as I've happened to become quite familiar with the DVD box sets out already. I'm wondering what the "innocent and proud to admit it" pleasures are. [Wink]

Rescue me is a good show, I love Dennis Leary but for whatever reason I never really got into it.

And of course Becker, one of my all time favorites, but you already found that one. [Smile]

Wow, this makes me look like I watch a lot of TV, which I really don't. There is only one show I go out of my way to watch each week and that is House.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia follows Leary's masterwork & the first two episodes showed great promise.

Try to catch Big Love if you have HBO. I thought it was gong to suck when I first saw commercials for it but it is actaully pretty good.

Other than the aforementioned Curb, that would be Arrested Development, Da Ali G Show, and Scrubs, with a major shout out to the reruns of The Larry Sanders Show

... this show was too weird for me. Creepy witches and "little people" and such.

Geez Dave,

You've been down more than up since I've known you! I would reccomend getting an nice HD set and taking all that in. Alot more on HD to watch than on the regular airwaves... and those regular airwaves will be gone in a couple of years anyway.

It is an odd soap... Actually they put it on the Sci-Fi channel for a short stunt but it bombed...obviously. The hot sweaty guys are a plus but the 'little person' actually died...in real life. They replaced him with the fact that the witch had a baby, so a kid is the new little person. I think I only got into it with the mentality that a new daytime soap was starting and it doesn't happen that often, so I tried hard to get into it. It worked! [Smile]
