Very interesting. A small submarine for 6 people with a acryl glass dome which gives you full view of the surroundings on three sides. Privately planned and initially also funded. Due to funding shortage, the project was taken over by the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, England. Its story can be seen on the Discovery Times Channel. Two episodes, to be repeated on July 23.

I will be back in the other thread soon, but in the meantime, let me say I am simply fascinated by submarines and I am surprised you aren't. Don't you like "going down"?

Mike, I like the real thing, not toy subs. I've worked/filmed for commercial movies and been on small. claustrophobic, cramped WWII subs, as well as large ones like the one used in the film "Ice Station Zebra".

In my younger (and "thinner") days, I was an avid SCUBA diver and have filmed many UW sequences and produced several UW/Diving "travelogs" as well.

A man in France once built a complete ship(!! I saw this on TV), so why not a submarine?
