I have Parkplace and St. Charles Place...game pieces from McDonalds Monopoly game. Or game pieces # 3607, and 3608, not sure exactly what they are. That prize is $1000...lets win it! We'll split the money right down the middle, 60/40. Since this was my genius idea, I get more. haha..let me know what you got people./

This is the same thing I posted on a myspace bulletin for those that will probably read it there too. [Big Grin]

Seriously, go dumpster diving at all local mcdonalds. If nothing else you will find hundreds of the $1 best buy bucks or whatever they do now. You'd be amazed at ho many people dont even peel them off.

As a matter of interest, where is Parkplace? I assume that the names are taken from real places. The reason I ask is that Before Penn Station in Newark was built the old station was called Market Street I think, but PATH served a separate station which I'm pretty sure was called Park Place. I doubt that anything in Monopoly is named after a street in Newark, but you never know. There are some pretty rough places in London which were regarded as posh areas at one time, and some pretty rough areas which have turned into posh ones. I have no idea what type of street Park Place is, or was.

Monopoly names are all based on Atlantic City, New Jersey.

All of the street and place names in Monopoly are actual streets or neighborhoods [Marvin(sic) Gardens] in Atlantic City, NJ.

Some of the streets made famous in the game no longer exist, falling victim to development and name changes (Illinois Ave is now Martin Luther King Blvd, for example)

The railroads were East Coast lines. (except 'Short Line' which was derived from 'Shore Fast Line', a streetcar line in Atlantic City.

I thought Short Line Railroad was named such becuase the creator ran out of Railroad names, so he took the name of the local Bus line that brought tourists to Atlantic City? I dunno, I don't live there.
