I'm planning a car trip in January.
Leaving from SoCal, I'm going to visit several FT members for sex and/or just dinner:
1) Aaron in Temecula
2) Floyd in Phoenix
3) Will in Tucson
4) The Jen in Tempe
5) Mike in Scottsdale
6) Paul in Las Vegas
7) Mark in Utah (wherever you live!) HA!
8) Joe in Denver
9) Josh in West Fargo
10) Allison in Peoria
11) Mr. Maartini in NYC (NO sex, but YOU buy an EXPENSIVE dinner!)
12) Mark in DE
...Then on to DFW!
Who did I miss? Perhaps we'll get together, ***IF*** you buy me dinner...or offer me sex! HA!
>>> Phil

If you're heading straight to Temecula first, then I may be slightly out of your way ... but if you swung through the area, I'd buy you a beer!
No sex.
Could I get my picture with you, though? You know, to show all my soon-to-be jealous friends!
Posted by Rick Hunter (Member # 1606) on 11-21-2006, 03:50 AM:
Drop in, I'll shout you a beer or two...
Posted by Dave Williams (Member # 299) on 11-21-2006, 05:02 AM:
Phil,
When you are in Utah you have to give me a visit. I want to meet the man that causes so much pain and pleasure (depending on your own twisted view of course) for the world.
Really though, I make a mean pasta that gets you addicted for life. No one has ever been able to settle for just two platefulls.
It also would be a great excuse to get with Mark and rip up the town a bit.
Ciao

I'm going to be the first one to call bullshit on this.
Phil, you know that you won't ever get your lazy behind out of that house. You've been telling us that for over a year now!
Posted by Michael Coate (Member # 757) on 11-21-2006, 06:55 AM:
Come on now...the road trip thing CAN be done. I've hit the road and racked up the miles numerous times, and met a lot of great film-tech members during the journeys. But then, maybe I'm not as lazy as Phil. Oh, and I didn't have to barter sex to get dinner from any of the film-techers I met, either!
And speaking of the old coot, how come you never visit me? I live a whopping five miles away!

12) Mark in DE
Me? That's cool if it is, but this is the first I'm hearing of this! Sorry, no sex for you here. Not from me anyway. Dinner is a possibility though.
Posted by Bruce McGee (Member # 131) on 11-21-2006, 11:26 AM:
If you can see Mark in DE, you better come thru NC and see me. AFTER you see me, you can make up your mind about the SEX part. I am predicting "NO!!!"
Dinner will do nicely. Home cooking OK?
Posted by Bob Maar (Member # 763) on 11-21-2006, 12:19 PM:
You know that you will have the best Martini's here in the big apple. Most likely the best meal on your trip as well. Chances are you will want to move here once you taste New York Hospitality.
You are more than welcome to stay with my wife and I at the apartment in the apple.
I do not have a hook-up for an RV...I must have missed that. I am on East 63rd Street between York and First which allows no parking as 63rd Street is an exit off of the FDR Drive.
Hey Scott, I can make it to Boston in Three Hours from Manhattan
East Side to Copley Square. Of course Phil, probably drives slower than I do so he may take four. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Phil,
Just so I can prepare, what type of 'morning after sex' food do you like for breakfast
Posted by Bill Gabel (Member # 1105) on 11-21-2006, 12:40 PM:
Bob do you have a RV hook-up outside of your apartment? And to tell him about the street cleaning parking rules, so he can move the RV on those days.

If you'll go as far as NYC, you should drive another four hours east and visit me. I'll buy dinner. No sex, though. Sorry. Maybe we can convince Chipper to join us.

Yea...If you do come to UT to see Mark, I could swing on down there to SLC and catch up with yous as well - only a 5hr drive from where I'm at..
(or, when Mark does service calls in this area, come up with him and him and I can show you Idaho...take you to Twin Falls and show you the Shoshone Falls on the Snake River, which are called "the Niagara Falls of Idaho" - higher than Niagara Falls in NY)

Yeah, left out here too. Oh well, time to go kick the neighbor's dog.
Posted by Mike Heenan (Member # 392) on 11-22-2006, 02:23 PM:
I think being left out is a good thing... count your lucky stars Charles. I'm trying to figure out how to AVOID Phil's visit. Perhaps I'll set the meeting up at a Hooter's restaurant, the chances of him showing up there are slim.
Posted by Will Kutler (Member # 770) on 11-22-2006, 03:54 PM:
Hi Phil
Floyd is now in Hawaii.
I am in Mesa at Arizona State University Polytechnic, not far from the Jen and Mike H.
I'd be glad to show you our excellent Department at the University. I would suggest that the 4 of us go to someplace like Organ Stop Pizza (not far from the Jen or I...but a little drive for Mike) so that we can enjoy that Mighty WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ.
Another suggestion would be to see McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale. The Arizona Wing of the Confederate Air Force is not too far from the Jen or I.
So, I suppose we can do whatever flips your boat...No sex though. Unless you want to crash Jenna's Scottsdale house or strip-club.
And Mike...there is one better than Hooters called "The Tilted Kilt".
Cheers
Kutler

Ummm, there is plenty of scenery for Phil at Hooters. The major clientel at Hooter's restaurants are........guys! Many of them young college aged, just perfect for Phil.
So hiding out there probably won't do you much good.
Posted by Mike Heenan (Member # 392) on 11-22-2006, 04:15 PM:
Hmm you got a point. I'll think of something else.
Posted by Phil Hill (Member # 371) on 11-22-2006, 08:04 PM:
Well Brad... I've been to Hooters several times. Most of the guys there are your age...you know, middle age and past their prime.
Posted by Paul Mayer (Member # 355) on 11-23-2006, 10:41 AM:
It will be a pleasure to accomodate Phil's wishes for a free meal or six when he eventually makes it here to Sin City. Been very very busy at the airline lately though - missed out on a chance to meet up for dinner with Dick Vaughan during Aviation Nation at Nellis AFB last weekend. Hell, I don't get a chance to visit or say 'hi' to anyone anymore, even local friends, unless they work at the airport.
Right now I'm off on Thursdays and Fridays, if I'm not called in for extra shifts or meetings. Otherwise one can find me at LAS, Terminal D, Gates 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 18, 23, or 32, 5:30am to 4:30pm or so, usually later. And still at CCSN on Tuesdays 9:00am to noon or so. In January, who knows? I'll be on a new bid line by then - never know what I'll get. Such is the life of a newly promoted full-time lead ground ops agent. Life is good.
Lots of hottie action for Phil at both work locations...

Organ Stop
Cool idea. Not that I felt the need to meet Phil, I was just hurt that I was simply ignored. :-) Our theatre isn't much to write home to, not bad, but not a shining star either. So Phil visiting for that would be like going somewhere to visit their grocery stores, nothing special.
Posted by Mike Heenan (Member # 392) on 11-23-2006, 11:18 AM:
Didn't you just quit your theater charles? Also, I went to the Organ Stop Pizza place last week for my moms B-day, and while the organ was impressive (insert snide comment here), the pizza and other food was a little below average.
Posted by Brad Miller (Member # 2) on 11-23-2006, 01:12 PM:
Well Mr. Phil, if I am by your definition middle aged and past my prime, what does that make you? (Be careful, this is a trick question.)

Yeah, however, there are some recent turn of events that has me hopful of some positive changes. Unfortunatly, they're pulling that, I can't withdraw your 2 weeks. So it looks like I'm going to be forced to quit, even if the reson I'm quitting is corrected.
I think they're pissed off because I'm quitting. It's either that, or they're tired of the constant stress to them caused by my constant breakdowns. Say it's for my "own good" and that they're considering my "Best interests". Unfortunatly, this will end my carrer in the movie business, being that I have no other options or place to go.
Posted by Mike Heenan (Member # 392) on 11-24-2006, 08:57 AM:
That's good for you... get a new job in a new career and finally be able to afford that trip to France
Posted by John McConnel (Member # 2000) on 11-24-2006, 02:38 PM:
Phil would probably enjoy Organ Stop Pizza. The performers would enjoy him, too. The sizing of their organs is comparable to the sizing of the instrument they play.

So Phil
What is the status on your road trip??

OHHH! I missed this thread. I must've been away on installs.
Hey, on the way to Mr. Maartini's, don't forget I'm just about an hour north of Philly and the Jersey Turnpike, bro! I live in the classic Roxy Theatre building, where fellow FT'er Richard Wolfe cranks out the shows. Big Sky is nearby in Philipsburg, NJ, too. Never been there yet, but maybe we could crash the place together.
We can eat out, there's lots of good places up here... or I can whip you up a batch of my famous Cincinnati chili.
Then, we can go workout at my gym. As you like. Nice scenery for all.

Since I seemed to have zoned the fact that in January/February it would be WINTER, and there would be a shitload of ***SNOW*** and ICE on all the roads up north, I decided to go only to Texas.
My route will be either I-40 or I-10 and returning to Hollywood by either.
Posted by Brad Miller (Member # 2) on 12-14-2006, 04:58 AM:
Uh huh, sure. I tell you what, if you can manage to get your butt down to Texas before the end of February, I'll buy you a steak dinner (or Chuck-E-Cheese since I know you like that place).
Posted by Bob Maar (Member # 763) on 12-14-2006, 08:56 AM:
What's the matter Phil, afraid of the Snow?
Isn't it strange how drivers who go slower than you are idiots and those that go faster are maniacs?
Thanks to Mike, I now know it's George Carlin. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

That is a classic George Carlin quote. In complete form, it's:
Didja ever notice that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot? And anybody driving faster than you is a MANIAC! Jeez, willya look at that idiot poking along.....HOLY SHIT, look at that maniac go!

Hmm, reminds me of West Virgina. Everyone's related, literally. A state where not only is marrying your sis' acceptable, it's recommended, maybe your 1st cousin as a backup.
