During the movie, the SFPD holds a private screening at movie theatre. Does anyone know where that scene was video taped? It looked like a nice cinema.

Technically he is correct in that Zodiac was shot digitally.

I believe the exterior is The Castro Theatre for the scene where he meets the manager/projectionist. Not sure where the Dirty Harry screening sequence was filmed.

The Dirty Harry scene should be the Mann's National Theatre in Westwood area of Los Angeles, CA. They filmed select locations in Los Angeles.
