Hiya, folks.

For those interested, I'll be in the Dallas area this coming May on business with my "real job" which is in the senior assisted living industry. I'm going down to attend the annual senior living version of Show East/West. Our CEO is making a presentation there on a program that I developed for our company, and she has asked me to go help answer technical questions during the presentation. The web site for the show is here if you are interested.

So, while I'm down there, I might have time to go see one movie. I hope so, but I'm not sure what our agenda will look like yet.

If I do get the chance, where do you all suggest I go? I don't know the Dallas area, but the conference is at the Hilton Anatole Hotel.

If you are interested in IMAX, Fair Park has a dome screen with generally low volume and extra cinch scratching.

Cinemark Webb Chapel isn't too far down 635 and has an IMAX. Nothing great like can be found at other IMAXes.

Harkins has a theater in Southlake with one of their Cine Capri auditoriums. I have not been.

Cinemark Legacy is the flagship for the entire chain. Paul Konen runs it. Again, not too far.

UA Galaxy has the biggest screens in the state (despite Harkin's advertising). Again, not too far the other direction on 635.

SMG Arlington is quite a ways away, but if you are limited on time you can eat dinner during the movie.

Dallas isn't too exciting movie-wise anymore. That's about all we have that stand out in some form or another.

My sympathy.... At least you might beat the unbearable humidity/heat conditions they have in the summer if you're lucky.

You should go and visit Dealey Plaza while in Dallas, where JFK was shot. According to Mapquest, it's very close to your hotel. I went there a few years ago, it's very impressive to see the place which you have seen in documentaries so many times. There is a museum on the 6th floor of the schoolbook depository building.
They also have a more or less authentic historical Western train thing going on in Forth Worth, it's called the "Tarantula Train", if you like that sort of thing. You can take a ride on the train from a restored old train station. It takes about 1h.
