I'm sure there are dozens, if not more, but what recent films won't see the light of day in the air?

FLIGHT 93, CRASH (just the title would likely scare away a flight movie programmer), FEARLESS, ALIVE, CAST AWAY, FLIGHT 29 DOWN, DIE HARD 2, THE EDGE.....

Others?

Northwest Airlines were showing Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines on my flight to Boston earlier this month. Given that there must be around 10-20 plane crashes taking place during the film, I guess someone, somewhere was showing a sense of humour!

"Fight Club" had a brief but graphic plane accident scene.

(I suppose they could just delete that scene and still show the rest. Anyone see "Fight Club" on a plane? How'd they handle this?)

There is no Airport '80. The Airport movies are:

Airport
Airport '75
Airport '77
The Concorde: Airport '79

I wouldn't think ANY of them would ever be shown on an airplane especially the original.

Technically, that's not quite correct. In many parts of the world 'Airport '79 - The Concorde' was renamed 'Airport '80 - The Concorde' as the release rollout moved into the next decade.

Of course, the name change didn't matter...it was a piece of [bs]

that failed every territory it played.

For those airlines that have satilite television like Jet Blue and Frontier, people can watch whatever is being broadcast. So they are seeing Flight 97 or World Trade Center if it is on.

I think the bigger problem may be people watching DVDs on their laptops with inappropriate content in full view of those who don't want to see it or shouldn't see it.

There's a porno called "Topless Stewardesses"- shot on an actual jet, though the acting is rather bad.
