This is from today's IMDB.com news. I swear I did not alter the amazingly ridiculous petition quote in any way.

So let's see...she got a break once because she's a wealthy person, and then she "mistakenly" decided the rules don't apply to her and broke them, and now she wants another break?

Hilton Urges Fans To Help Keep Her Out of Jail

Paris Hilton is calling on her fans to help her stay out of jail - by endorsing an online petition they can sign. The desperate socialite, who was sentenced to serve 45 days in jail last week after violating terms of her 2006 drunk-driving arrest, has teamed up with a pal called Joshua to urge fans to help her. In a post on her MySpace blog, Hilton, who is also asking California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon her, writes, "My friend Joshua started this petition. Please help and sign it. I love you all!" The petition, which is addressed to Schwarzenegger, claims "the American public who support Paris are shocked, dismayed and appalled by how Paris has been the person to be used as an example that drunk driving is wrong. She provides hope for young people all over the US and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives. If the late former President Gerald Ford could find it in his heart to pardon the late former President Richard Nixon after his mistake(s), we undeniably support Paris Hilton being pardoned for her honest mistake as well." Hilton is due to start serving time by June 5 if her appeal fails, after being sentenced at a hearing at Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.

Well, not to take this down the political road -- Ford's pardon of Nixon has been acknowledged by most people as a wise move in retrospect, but if Arnold even gets involved in this thing, he's showing very bad judgement as a governator, I mean governor.

I am too lazy to look but there has to be somewhere out there with a petition to keep her IN jail. I know I would sign that one.

Hell I think Arnold would actually score points by not only not pardoning her but going the opposite direction and making a public statement detailing the dangers of Driving Under The Infulence and that she is lucky that she was stopped by the police as oppose to getting herself (or worse someone else) killed. What is 45 days in jail as opposed to the rest of her life?

Thanks Paul, I actually did signed it. The funny thing (to me anyway) was that I wasnt expecting an actual serious petition. I was thinking something more along the lines of a humorous petition to send her to San Quinton or give her the death penalty or force her to watch "House of Wax" something along those lines.

I'm reminded of the line in Liar, Liar, when Jim Carrey is handed a phone call from one of his clients, who's just gotten arrested (again) for a felony. The caller requests his legal advice. Carrey shouts into the phone:

I think that's actually a good idea. With her "celebrity" status and the fact that about 75% of people can't stand her, she'd probably be very unsafe in the general prison area. I personally think she's a bimbo and a skank, but I wouldn't wish any worse for her than any other prisoner. She deserves to be protected from haters.

Yea, like the time she'll be spending in the mini Hilton prison is going to do her any good... She'll just be baking cookies with the rest of the gals like Martha Stewart did. Two weeks afer she's done her time she'll do a TV show all about it. While I am not saying throw her to the Wolves she should spend time in an appropriate prison like every criminal does. The premise of her fame is being naughty so let her spend some time with some other naughty folks... If need be they can keep her isolateed from the extremely dangerous criminals there too!

She somehow thinks she's above the law. I think today helped her...more than she thinks. I have no tolerance for Paris or the other clubbing bimbos that saturate the news.

Good thing shes now doing time @ her mansion, those ankle transmiters are soooo unfasionable, Im sure when her friends come over shes going to be like so uncool! perhaps they come in different colors Afterall it must be a fashion crime.
Good thing shes now going back to the celebrity prison, perhaps she should try reading some ligher reading materials this time! Its obvious that the good book is giving her headaches. I wonder if the orange jumpsuit makes her ass look fat?

It was reported on the radio this morning that the reason the judge banged her up again was that, immediately upon her release, she set about planning a massive 'welcome home' party, to which all the sad celebs in Los Angeles were to be invited. I hope they weren't planning to drive home afterwards - had the party gone ahead, I imagine that pretty much every police car in California would be poised to swoop at the bottom of her driveway, breathalysers at the ready.

And the medical note certifying that the poor darling was suffering from 'stress' (which got her out in the first place) had been obtained from a tame family doctor who, no doubt, was well rewarded for the considerable professional skill that was needed to make such a difficult diagnosis. Well, that bit's speculation: but the judge who put her back behind bars said that he'd seen 'no real evidence' that Hilton had any medical problem, at the same time that the sheriff who let her out was waving the doctor's note at the cameras in an attempt to justify doing so...

How f***ing stupid can she get?!

When I ever get filthy rich, please remind me that I should leave everything to a foundation or other organization which does good, and nothing to my children so they have to work for a living and get educated and acquire skills by studying and hard work, so that they become real people with character and format, and not a piece of crap with an inexhaustible bank account which films itself screwing around so that people can watch that on the net, and which doesn't have the dignity of standing up for its mistakes. I don't think I could live with having offspring like that. Well, OK, by that time I will be dead anyway, and that is probably better that way.

One thing doesn't have anything to do with the other. Not leaving them a shitload of money they have done nothing for doesn't mean not teaching them stuff. I am confused by what gives you that idea.
In fact, that would be lesson 1. "You want stuff? Go work for it."

Providing a financially secure and comfortable environment in which to grow up in as such is already a luxury a lot of people never had.
If I had that much money, I would get them a good education and nothing else and use the money maybe to give many other less priviledged kids a chance, provided they show they deserve it.

LOS ANGELES - Paris Hilton's parents visited their daughter after breezing past others waiting to see loved ones — an incident that raised new complaints that the heiress is receiving special treatment.

The visit came less than a week after Hilton was reassigned to house arrest days after being jailed for violating parole. The 26-year-old celebrity was later ordered back to jail.

Alvina Floyd, one visitor to the at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, waited more than four hours to visit her fiance. It normally takes two hours, and Floyd, 20, blamed the Hiltons for the delay.

"I have to be at work later," she said. "I can't wait here all day."

Shatani Alverson, 23, said she was hustled out of the jail's visiting room moments after her husband walked in because of the Hiltons. She was told to come back after lunch.

Steve Whitmore, a sheriff's spokesman, said it was routine for high-profile inmates to receive visitors during lunch, a time when the visiting room is normally cleared out and closed.

The visit came shortly after the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors ordered Sheriff Lee Baca to respond by next week to allegations of favoritism for reassigning Hilton to house arrest. At the time, Baca cited an undisclosed medical condition as the reason for making the decision.

Hilton was sent to a medical ward, where sheriff's officials said it costs $1,109.78 a day to house a female inmate compared to $99.64 a day in the general population.

Mary Tiedeman, who regularly visits the jails as a monitor for the ACLU, said the area where Hilton was being housed was usually reserved for high-security inmates or those worse off than Hilton has appeared.

"I don't know what her health issue is, but you have got to have a pretty intense medical or mental health problem to be in that part of the jail," she said.

Its a shame the rooms dont come with an onsuite for $100, Room service is much slower than usual. For $1000 dollars a night any idea whats on the breakfast menu?

I have NO problem with the higher cost as long as the difference is not only fully reimbursed but also a suitable "handling charge" is added that will benefit the population as a whole. I am certain that this would not be an undue burden for the Hiltons. Louis

She has done some smart things, like surrounding herself with people who can whip her name and image into a "brand." She works hard promoting the brand, I'll give her that. She's the living proof of the old saying, 'There's no such thing as bad publicity.' She'll come out of this thing with more money than ever. It'll be the most profitable 23 days she ever spent.
