Bruce Fitzsimmons, 65, owner of Cinetech, LLC. died after a long illness on Monday 7/2/2007. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Bruce spent many years in the Pottstown, PA area, and most recently lived in Delaware, where he succumbed to Prostate Cancer after living for many years with the disease.

Bruce was widely known in the theatre industry as a master technician who could fix any problem, especially on older equipment. His many customers, mostly independent theatre owners, admired his commitment to his craft, his workmanship, and his kind and generous nature. He received his initial training on projection equipment while serving in the US Navy, aboard the USS Boston.

He is survived by his five children: Bruce Fitzsimmons Jr. and his wife Chris Fitzsimmons, Robert Fitzsimmons, Alexander Fitzsimmons, Maxwell Fitzsimmons, and Valerie Fitzsimmons, as well as by 5 grandchildren: Jesse Evans, Rehiana Fitzsimmons, Savannah Fitzsimmons, Jonathon Fitzsimmons, and Keira, a sixth grandson, Ryder Conner Fitzsimmons has joined his growing legacy since his passing, and a seventh Emily Fitzsimmons is eagerly awaited.; 3 former wives: Rheda Belz Fitzsimmons, Brenda Fitzsimmons Conner, and Ronda Fitzsimmons, and 2 loving sisters and Brothers-in-law: Joyce & Jim Henshaw and Lorie & Jim Morganti, several nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Alfie O'Neill Fitzsimmons, former wife Donna Fitzsimmons, and daughter-in-law Amy Fitzsimmons.

A memorial service will be held at 11am, Friday, Aug. 31st, 2007 at Faith Bible Fellowship Church, 140 Harleysville Pike, Harleysville, PA. All are invited to attend.

My sincerest condolances and thoughts. I did speak with Bruce at least once or twice over the years... mostly looking for used equipment....

Thanks Clint and Mark. He was a good man, and always had a ton of good used equipment for sale. I'm grateful to hear of your contact with him. If you know of a theatre owner or supplier who may not have gotten the news, please forward to them. Since I don't have all his contacts, it's been difficult to reach those who would like to attend his memorial services.

Correction on post: Bruce's late mother's name was Elfreide Fitzsimmons Haun O'Neill. His family asked me to correct it!

My wife, Darci and I are so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing.
Back in 2003 he came up on very short notice to do our booth so we could have our grand opening on our scheduled date. He was here for 3 days, and when he left, I opened and everything ran just like it should. We didn't know him well, but for the brief time he spent here, we really enjoyed his company. We'd always thought our paths would cross again, and we regret that they didn't. Our condolences to his family & friends.
