Yea, it was pretty cool that they took the Yankees down - coming back from being beind 0-3 to take the AL Pennant in 04..

Then, getting the monkey off their back to win the Series that year.. with blanking the Cards .. winning 7 straight games.

I'm going for the Rockies since they've never been in a World Series before. However, the Red Sox sucked just as bad as the Cubs before they won it a few years ago. Yeah, I'm cheering for the Rockies. But then again, I don't like the Yankees and the Sox fans would love to rub it in their faces. Hell with it, I'm still cheering for the Rockies.

I too would like to see the Rockies do it since they were a Wild Card Team and barely made it into the Playoffs. Bosto broke the Curse a few years back.

We kicked the Red Sox asses earlier and we'll do it again. Red Sox winning 7 in a row? That's nothing. Granted, we are used to losing 150 games in a row, but we've won something like 50 out of the last 20 games. Boston can't even spell "socks" correctly.

I used to be a big baseball fan... Had season box tickets for the Dodgers for many years. But now I find it soooooo BORING!

I much prefer Pro Basketball and Ice Hockey...

A lot of sports are getting boring these days, even football. Nowadays they'll run 2 or 3 plays, call time out, show a bunch of commercials, come back and kick the ball, more commercials, come back and play 2 downs, more commercials. Baseball almost seems exciting compared to this. I've never seen a baseball game on TV because they simply do not show them on TV because I assume nobody cares about baseball, so this World Series will be interesting for me. Hopefully it'll have more action and fewer ads than recent football.

Mark, the Colorado Rockies are the most underpaid team EVAR! Yes, evar with an "A". We don't pay trillions to lame foreigners. All of our players are American. We learn and build our skill, not buy it. Our players can go to local supermarkets and nobody will recognize them. I think the highest paid team member on the Rockies makes maybe $50 an hour (every hour even when not playing).

I rooted for the Red Sox in 2004 because of the great comeback against the Yankees. I will always root for them when they play the Yankees, but not so much anymore because the "underdog" mystique is gone. Also, when I go to Rangers games now the Sox fans are just as arrogant as the Yankee fans. Go Rockies by default.

The reason Colorado wasn't even heard from yesterday was that World Series tickets were to go on sale online at 10 AM and the site crashed when 8.5 million people tried to log on at the same time someone tried to hack the site (or so the Rockies claim Rockies Press Release). Since they didn't announce the problem until early afternoon and didn't come up with an alternative until 8 PM last night, hundreds of thousands Rockie fans were chained to their computers most of the day hoping to get a few of the 18,000 available tickets per game for the three games to be played in Denver.

And yes, I'm a fan who will be trying to get a couple of those 54,000 available tkts when they go on sale online today at noon. Go Rockies!

I wanted to mention that I am a fan of the following teams:

Cincinnati Reds
Cincinnati Bengals
University of Cincinnati Bearcats
Ohio State Buckeyes

Guess where I was born?

Regardless of how much the above teams suck, I will always be a lifelong fan.

I just hate the Red Sox and root for whoever they are playing against. Very similar to my hatred for the Yankees, and the New England Patriots, New York Jets, New York Mets, New York Giants, and pretty much any team that calls New York or the New England area their home. Maine Lobster is about the best thing out of New England - oh, and clam chowder.

That's quite the long drive if you get them. And then you have to deal with $50+ parking. Who knows what the lots will charge? It was $50 for the playoffs. I suggest maybe walking from Telluride.

Remember how everyone counted out the Red Sox a couple years ago? They were down to their final out in the ALCS -almost being swept by the Yankees and were somehow able to come back.

So why do they keep track of hits and errors? They don't count on the final score, so who cares? That's like football keeping track of completed passes and fouls right next to the score. Nobody cares, and that's why they don't do that in football. What the hell is an error anyway? Baseball doesn't make much sense.

Those were not choices, especially since most of those aren't even sports.

Also, what's up with ERAs, RBIs and all of that nonsense? It doesn't make any sense and I don't think it would matter if those terms and whatever they stood for went away. Nobody cares. The goal of the game and the score would remain the same.

By the way, that last pitcher for the Red Socks looks scary. He should be the evil Terminator in the next movie. I don't think he has eyelids, he never blinks... not even when walking back to the bullpen/dugout/whatever the hell it is.

Yes they did. Too bad they're an eastern team, though. I usually dislike all sports teams from New England. At least our stadium is better, though. Sure, it's not 900 years old, but more action happens. Also remember that the Rockies are trained to lose. Beating the Rockies is like beating a little league team. That's why Denver as a whole was so amazed that they made it this far and everyone rallied behind them. Their home games usually have many more empty seats than fans. It would have been much more awesome for the entire world to see the Rockies win than to see the Red Socks win.

I never have enough time to follow many TV sports, but I think most Montanans will root for the Rockies by default since they're fairly close to home. But, this is getting embarassing.

If I don't know who to root for, I use Mike's Root Criteria:

- Have I been to one of the cities? If so, that's who I root for

- If not, do I know anybody from either city? If so, I root for the city whose resident I like the best

- If I've never been to either town (or have visited both) and don't know or like anyone from either place, I'll root for the town closest to Montana.

In Denver's case, it wins on all three questions. I've been there many times, a couple of my favorite people in the world live there, and it's the closest. So I have no choice. GO ROCKIES, DAMMIT!

(This comment is the essence of rooting for any team playing a seasonal sport. Remember, pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training in early February and the first pre-season games start later that month!)
