I've been away from the internet for awhile. My dad got really sick about a month ago, and finally, peacefully, died on 12/24/07. He was a great dad who indulged me with the weird hobby of film handling, and equipment purchases.
Had it not been for his understanding, I would not be in this industry today.
My mother is taking this well. The immediate family is gathering. The memorial services are on Friday.
Also, BTW, Happy Birthday to me on 12/26. 51 years ancient.
I'm not at home right now, so there is limited access to F-T and the 'net.

May God comfort you and your family in this time Bruce. It's so nice to hear of a loving father-son relationship in this day and age. You've really been blessed. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY young man (you're still a kid - I'll turn 76 in April).

Our prayers are with you Bruce. My dad is suffering from congestive heart failure... just got out of the hospital.

Sorry for your loss Bruce, things like this seem to happen far to often around the holidays.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Bruce. I can relate to your current emotions, having lost my Dad 1 1/2 years ago at age 84, and after many years of serious illneses. May God bring peace to you and your family.

Bruce, my heartfelt condolences. The one word that jumps out...you said he died peacefully. I know that will bring some comfort to you and your family. That doesn't happen as much as it should nowadays with modern medicine. If only all of us could have that blessing...."he died peacefully in his sleep." Wonderful words.

Bruce; it is such a tough thing especially when you had a relationship such as Robert Allen so capably describes. Buried my Dad on Christmas Eve forty two years ago and I still miss him badly. My thoughts are with you.

Thanks to all that commented here. This, and the 150 emails I have received have been printed and given to my mom.
