Purely unscientific survey...

What movies celebrating this year a 10th-50th anniversary do you believe deserve to be feted with extra attention such as a theatrical re-release, a DVD Special Edition or a retrospective journalism piece? Just curious because I may be involved with a couple of such projects.

Saving Private Ryan - Needs a Blu-Ray release to commemorate. Perhaps an "extra body parts" edition or something would be nice.

15th (1993)
The Nightmare Before Christmas - Needs a Blu-Ray release in the worst way as the DVD is just gawdawful.

DIE HARD and THE BIG LEBOWSKI are the two that come to mind as most worthy. But thinking outside of the box, I'd love to see the theatrical cut of John McNaughton's WILD THINGS on BD, and John Carpenter's VAMPIRES is in need of a special edition.

Semi-realistically though, how about THE X-FILES? The new movie even comes out this summer.

1958 is the 50th Anniversary of the greatest drive-in picture of all time...... THUNDER ROAD with Robert Mitchum.

Its time for a serious DVD set of this title.

Lights of New York - generally considered to be Hollywood's first 'all talking' (i.e. the plot is all communicated through recorded dialogue - no intertitles) feature.
Several iconic Hollywood late silents, notably: The Wind and The Crowd.
La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc - not exactly popcorn-munching light entertainment, but deserves a mention on account of its critical impact, I guess.
1928 was a pretty dire year for British film, but Underground is a little-known masterpiece, IMHO.
