I remember reading some press releases from some company that was working on a 4k projector based on fiber optic telcom technology. Somewhat recently I had read that they demonstrated a lower resolution version and were going to demonstrate a 4k version soon. What company is this? I keep googling and googling and can't find anything but I know I'm not crazy and I read this recently.

It was Panorama Labs which through a recent buyout from some of the management, they are under a new name. Frank Stirling and Henry Mathias are involved.
JVC has a 4K chip and Barco recently debut a 4K machine, the LX-5.

I suppose it would've been too obvious to just call it LX-4K! [Roll Eyes]

Maybe it's Toshiba. After the HD-DVD debacle, they don't have anything else to do.
