im looking into a way to get a camera trained on any one of my 6 brain units (one per screen, of course). We have a long booth, and often we need to change trailers for example, at one side of the booth, and yet need to keep an eye on perhaps another set of trailers going through on the projector at the other side of the room.

At the moment we have to run back and forth from one end to the other, just to look at the damned thing to see if it 'needs my help'.

I thought, wouldnt it be a sweet idea (or maybe not??) to have a cctv (or handycam!) suspended right above the brain you want to watch, all feeding live video to a tv screen (perhaps wirelessly?) anywhere else in the booth.

if anyone can help me devise this, i think it would be really useful. if anyones tried anything like this - do tell!

I wouldn't wanna be too suggestive but... It might just make more sense to get the platters "fixed" correctly so they don't do this... CCTV isn't going to "fix" the problem at hand.

well surely, even if the platters were set up like you say, with a big ad change that you have to castle, theres no way to avoid potential jams? perhaps this is just me being naive in projection, but I cant see how any adjustment of my setup could help with that.

just wanted a way to keep an eye from a distance really.

i could just get a pair of binoculars [Eek!]

If you have the time you could always drop the new trailer pack in and then "Speed wind" them back onto a ring while you are there to supervise. When you drop them back in again they will be tightly wound onto the ring and should fit into the center of the print without having a bulge outward.
