Single & living alone, I don't have a problem with working a double and getting overtime on Thanksgiving. I'll probably visit some family on black friday. What about you? I try to work this and Christmas but keep my New Year's Eve & Day open, what do you do on holidays?

We always work Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. (We're closed Christmas Eve.) We have an assistant mgr which gives us time off occasionally, but I don't feel right making that person work on those holidays. Our teenage employees are more than willing to "get out of the house" so we have no trouble filling the concession staff.

We fit family doings around the theatre schedule. Fortunately most of both of our families live within a couple hours drive or less.

Well I've got 6 theaters I am involved with. 4 of those of government owned so they are closed by default on the holidays, theater #5 shows films only once every few weeks so they rarely happen to show films on the holidays and the last is open May thru September. This time of year is actually my slowest time. Mid-January thru Late November I work almost 7 nights per week but late-November thru early January I am lucky if I have one shift every two weeks. Not the best time of year to have a vacation as northern Colorado winters often leave you stuck in your house.

At any rate, aside from 3 uncles, 1 great aunt and a handful of cousins all scattered around the country, the only family I have is my mother, father and grandpa, all here in Windsor so the holidays are usually quiet and uneventful. And I am single...

I'm single, live alone, and I don't really have any contact with my family. Since I'm a salaried manager, it sort of falls to me to work Thanksgiving. Normally I work open-close without a second thought. Same goes for Christmas.

We do the exact same thing as Mike. Although our concession kid usually gets the family holidays off, because the holidays themselves are not very busy here.
