You should be able to find one at drive-ins.com.

Betsie,
The closest two drive-ins to Fairfax County are the Family Drive-In in Stephens City, Virgina - about 55 miles west, and the Bengies Drive-In in Baltimore, Maryland - about 56 miles north east.

Both are great drive-ins.

Drive-Ins.com is often difficult to connect to, although I was using it earlier today with Firefox without any problems.

The Fork Union Drive In located on Rt. 612 Fork Union Va. in Fluvanna County. would be about 90 miles. It's located in a scenic rural town. Open Friday and Saturday nights, generally plays first run. Nice place with good food.

Drive-In.com loaded fine on my laptop through IE6 and FF3 with no problem.

Sometimes, the site, even though might have a fast server, might be bogged down with multiple users - including in-house users that are transferring or gathering large files - soaking up all the available bandwidth that can be had..

..and I run across the same thing on rare occasion trying to connect here with Film-Tech, esp during the late afternoon when every "Tom, Dick and Harry" is using any sort of bandwidth available.

I just figured that the network is super busy and try again later

I'll concur with Bill... Fork Union is a very nice drive-in. We visited there during daylight hours back in July of 1999, and I would honestly say it was the best landscaped/well manicured drive-in I had ever seen. We didn't stay for a show as we were on our way to DC.

drive-ins.com doesn't load at all on any browser I've tried. All of them simply gave a blank white screen.

In chrome it gave an error response from the site that says
"Error 320 (net::ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE): Unknown error."

Hi Betsy and Chris.
You're not the only one's experiencing connection difficulties accessing drive-ins.com.

I've tried both IE 7 and FF 3.0.7 and neither can connect. I did quick run of VisualRoute and it produced an answer to our problem.

It seems a firewall is blocking access to this site one hop before the Drive-ins.com server and is likely to be causing our grief. I hope this helps.

Cheers
Ian
