So I'm working on a contract and need to check an e-mail from about 6 weeks ago. I had no idea that my service provider (Insight) removes any mail that has been read and left in my inbox after 30 days. A quick call to Insight, 30 minutes on hold listening to their specials, later, I get to talk to some foriegn person who tries to explain that these e-mails are just gone. I have a fucking hotmail account that I can access messages from 5 years ago. [Mad]

Never occurred to me to leave my emails on someone else's server. I keep all mine here, where I can do with them as I please.

Even remotely, I could always log in & find something.
