I always had a Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP since it was first introduced and have played a couple of games in bed before going to sleep every night. I only have two games for it, Tetris & Dr. Mario because they are the ones I love to play. Between the two, Dr. Mario is the one I play the most. I have never replaced the battery since I bought the unit and have noticed the battery will soon need to be replaced and I know new batteries can easily be obtained on line for about $5.00 but was very surprised to learn how much the units are selling for now that it has been discontinued. Used ones are selling for about a hundred dollars and new units can be had for about $160.00. I had all of the previous Gameboy units and never bothered getting the unit that had replaced the 'Advance' because I was very happy with what I already had. It was a very popular unit and I am very curious why Nintendo discontinued it.

As with the marketing thing and computer technology, the DS is twice the unit that the SP was for Nintendo with a lot more buttons and whistles that the SP couldn't even come close to match.

Plus, with SONY coming out with the PSP that uses a miniDVD unit called the "UMD" which held tonnage of information than any cartridge based ROM games and an excellent display with great resolution graphics, Nintendo had to do something and the SP wasn't the winning ticket to continue with.
