When I was still a young lad in college, I spent a couple of years in Bowling Green, Ohio where I attended Bowling Green State University and met my wife. BG is a small rural town that has a 5 screen Cinemark (in the smallest shopping mall I have ever been in) and one single screen theater in the downtown area called the Cla-Zel. I never saw anything there and they were mostly known for their midnight Rocky Horror Picture Show screenings. A friend and I attempted to go to a RHPS screening one night but there are a string of bars in the downtown area since it is a college town and the bars won out.
Anyhow this friend contacted me through Facebook and told me that the Cla-Zel is now a wine bar. I went online to their website here and saw that they converted it to a wedding reception/wine bar/dance club/bar. It should do well since it is in a college town but I thought it was interesting since I have seen several posts on Film-Tech recently referring to single screen theaters being modified into wine bars. Seems to be the current trend. My wife and I may plan a trip back soon so I will have to check it out and let you know what it's like. As long as we don't look too old to be in a college bar.
