How do I increase the buffer in Vista? I have a broadband connection but it is still quite slow. When I am watching TV shows online it jumps and keeps freezing. Any suggestions?

Give this a whirl and see how you go...

Right click on my computer, go to properties.

Click on the advanced tab, and then click on the settings button that's inside the box that says performance.

Click on the advanced tab in that and click on the "change" button in the virtual memory box at the bottom.

Increase the number in the initial size and maximum size boxes by about 100, try 150 each.

Jonathan, Are you talking about tweaking the TCP stack (TCP tuning) to optimize things for broadband? Vista and Windows 7 do that automatically, not like XP.

Sadly, it can be on the transmission/server end of the spectrum that is running slow or have the glitches.

You can have both a fast computer and fast service but we're all still dependent of the source.

What are the specs of your PC? Amount of RAM? CPU class and speed? Video graphics card type/model/amount of video RAM?
