OK, my mom sent me to college, but I am still trying to figure out this commercial -- maybe someone can explain it to me.
These two older folks are evidently in heat, but alas, our hero can't get it up any more. Evidently he's tried regular Cialis -- presumably the kind you take just when you think you are actually going to get lucky, but now it seems his spouse gets quite randy (do women actually get randy?) at any time of the day or night and she might just want it, like when the kitchen counter top starts leaking a torent of water and suddenly turns into a gushing brook (ad agency on crack?).
Cialas For Daily Use, we are told, is the answer to this spur-of-the-moment horniness, as it allows our hero to "perform" when she just can't wait for him to take the pill. Of course there is are those sticky problems -- like that Cialis For Daily Use could make it so that he can't see or hear her and he could come down with a backache (that's no fun when you are trying to get it on) plus a headache (isn't that the woman's excuse?) or that pesky serious drop in blood pressure if drink alcohol.
But putting all that and the possible damage that a freakin four hour erection will cause aside, can someone tell me what the ad agency was thinking when it has these two love birds winding up in two separate bathtubs....in the middle of that instant kitchen-turned-running-brook? WTF?
I mean, I would understand if they had them getting romantic in a SINGLE tub -- but two? How stupid is that?
So what are they trying to say at the end of that commercial? Inquiring minds want to know.

Just think if he took Extenze also
he would be an old sex addict with a huge dick, with the risk of serious health problems.

And here I thought this thread was going to be one of those "Have you ever tried..." kind of threads.

And, what about this disclaimer, "Call your doctor if you have an erection lasting longer than 4 hours." ??
Most guys who had an erection for 4 hours would be calling the National Enquirer!

Hell, for a 4-hour hard-on I just need to get one of my blood clots to cooperate in the right place at the right time.
I love how those commercials always tip-toe around the semantic to avoid offending anyone..call it what it is.. A BONER PILL!!!
In general I always mute the sound on ALL medical commercials..I get tired of hearing the same old disclaimers and the side effects which are often worse than the condition the pill is supposed to cure.

As long as we are talking about wonder drugs and their side effects, let me recant, word for word, what one of the anti-depression drug commercial lists as the possible side-effects for the drug SeroquelXR. Mind you, these are not ALL of wonderful things that can happen to you if you take this thing -- they tell you to go to their website if you want to get the complete laundry list of side-effect available to you if you take this little pill:
Call your doctor if you have changes in mood or behavior, especially if you have thoughts of suicide; elderly patients taking SeroquelXR have an increased risk of DEATH. Call your doctor if you have fever, stiff muscles or confusion and this may be a life-threatening reaction, or if you have uncontrollable muscle movements as these may become permanent. High blood sugar has been reported with SeroquelXR and can lead to COMA or DEATH. Your doctor should check for cataracts. Other risks include a decrease in white blood cells which can be FATAL; seizures, increased cholesterol, weigh gain, dizziness on standing, impaired judgement and trouble swallowing. Use caution when driving or operating machinery. I'll say!
And this drug, BTW, is FDA approved. Yet they ban medicinal canibis for people with cancer pain. Indeed we are insane, and there doesn't seem to be a drug for it.

We don't have adverts for prescription medicine to the same extent in the UK and it's just plain weird the first time you see one on US TV with all the disclaimers.
That Cialis advert is ridiculous. My guess is having the couple in the same bathtub was too erotic for a network commercial so they had to compromise. I like the couple who are out hiking in the desert best, surely it's far too hot to have sex out there and especially when using a pill?

I believe there is a law that says you can't advertise what disease or condition a drug is supposed to treat unless you also list all the side effects.
This leads to one of two things:
Either the announcer starts talking really, really fast, reading a whole long list of side effects, hoping you don't remember all the crap he just blabbered or else you'll see these really vague commercials that simply say, "Ask your doctor if Fuckitol is right for you."

Tony the same can also be said about car commercials. They show a kick ass model, then at the end you have 1 second to read the fine print which says model shown was $50,000, the one that they advertise the low payments in the commercial is the base price that you probably couldn't buy.

I don't know why they need to have the announcer say all that fast legal stuff; it all is translatable into one sentence: "Everything we just said in the preceding is either a half-true or an outright effin lie" and that would pretty much cover it.

And advertising super low payments as being "Get [X] for as little as $200 per month" is bullshit... they can always go lower. They simply increase the length of the loan. Sure, there's a point where they decide not to keep on increasing loan length and decreasing payment since someone who can only afford $10 per month will have a good chance of finding himself having $0 next month.

All very good reasons to not watch television - commercial or otherwise.

I always see this ad at 3 AM for sleeping disorders. Gotta love the side effects!
quote:
LUNESTA acts quickly, so take it right before bed, and only if you have 8 hours to devote to sleep. Until you know how you will react to LUNESTA, you should not drive or operate machinery. Call your healthcare professional if your insomnia worsens or is not better within 7 to 10 days. This may mean that there is another condition causing your sleep problems. Walking, eating, driving, or engaging in other activities while asleep without remembering it the next day have been reported. Other abnormal behaviors include aggressiveness, agitation, hallucinations, and confusion. In depressed patients, worsening of depression including risk of suicide may occur. These risks may increase if you drink alcohol. Severe allergic reactions such as swelling of the tongue and throat occur rarely and may be fatal. Call your healthcare professional if you experience these or any effects or reactions that concern you. LUNESTA, like most sleep medicines, carries some risk of dependency. Side effects may include unpleasant taste, headache, morning drowsiness, and dizziness.
I guess when you finally wake up, you should take your shot of 5 Hour Energy drink

Seems like in many cases, this cures insomnia....permanently.

Obviously the flow of water increasing is a reference to what is going on in the woman's pants, but if I'm not mistaken, the two tubs is a common element in Cialis commercials from the beginning. I remember the first one a couple years ago and they are in the two tubs on a hill overlooking some beautiful scenery. I don't generally watch commercials since I DVR my shows, but I think those tubs have been in all of them.
The funniest one for me was the guy who couldn't throw the football through the tire swing. Then, after taking the pill, right through the middle... They may as well have had him toss a polish sausage on an open-faced roast beef sandwich.
