Hi all and Merry Christmas
Here is a late Christmas gift for you all. I presume that many of you spent a large portion of your misspent youth playing Galaga at your local Fish and Chippery. There is a program called MAME which will emulate the game but for simplicity's sake here is a link to an online web embedded version of Galaga which is heaps fun.

Thanks, that's one of my favorite old games. I'm still wishing for a good version of Defender -- it's possible to find perfect video, but the controls just can't be duplicated on a keyboard!

Cool! Thanks Pete.
Now, if you can find 'Battlezone', then I be forever in your debt.

Now what was the game you had to pilot a moon lander down thru asteroids?
Black & white I think.

You're probably thinking of Lunar Lander.

Lunar Lander -- we used to have competitions to see who could crash the spaceship into the ground at the highest rate of speed.

According to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlezone_%281980_video_game%29
"Battlezone was also re-released to Microsoft's Game Room download service for the Xbox 360 and Windows-based PCs in May 2010."
Apparently you can go to Microsoft's game room and down the game for free.

Alternatively I think you can get Battlezone to run under the MAME emulator. (Google it)
Also I read that Tank Hunter is very similar. You can play this online

I ma sorry however. I just played the game and it is way too violent for you Film-Techers!
cheers Peter
