An old coworker I had when I saw at AMC had said the Back to the Future event was a DCI copy, so I'd expect it to be the same with this.

Everything so far has been a 2k transfer. The only thing they've done on DVD was their summer movie camp.

Paramount has been doing full 2k DCPs for many of their classics.

Paramount seems to have a more active "classics" division than most of the other studios.

But Paramount seems to very little of it on film. Most of my dealings have been with WB, Sony and Universal. Paramount always seemed to have a handful of titles. Sony and Universal were pretty good to deal with (they allowed collector pritns). Disney only rented live action. But who knows with DCP. We even got a DCP copy of the original trailer for Airplane with the only change to it being a slug at the end promoting time and date.

If they were using film they would have to stagger the showing to allow prints to crossover between sites (the cost of making that many prints would not be viable).

I've considered it John...but tickets weren't even available for River East in Chicago, which was listed and the closest to me. More than seeing it on a big screen, I want to see it with a ton of people.

I'm sure there'd be a ton of people. Whether you'd know any of them though would be the question.

I first saw it with 850 others. I had to watch it again just to hear the bits I'd missed because people were laughing so much we missed the next gag.

Just make sure you don't park in the red zone.

Saw this today at the AMC Westminster Promenade w/ my wife. It was fun, but not very well attended - maybe 2 dozen?

The digital presentation was better than a bad 35mm presentation, but kinda mushy looking.

They ran promos for Sixteen Candles (mid Feb).
