Here's a heads-up for anyone in L.A. this week.
quote:
An evening of More Weird, Wacky, and Wonderful
Presented by the International Cinema Technology Association
At the James Bridges Theater, UCLA
Tuesday, January 18th at 7:30 p.m.
The program includes film clips in 35mm, Perspecta Sound, 70mm and a nitrate cartoon. Jess Daily and Ioan Allen curated the program and will introduce each clip followed by a Q and A discussion.

Wish I could be there for it.
Should be pretty interesting to see how many people try floating the notion of "digital" being superior during the Q&A. I think my Canon 1D Mark 4 is better than 70mm 'cuz it's digital and not old and analoggy like film.

The program sounds very exciting, Michael. I have alway envied all of you who live in big cities on the mainland especially Los Angeles and New York when you can enjoy all of the numerous cinematic events all year long.

Don't feel too bad, Claude -- I didn't know too many people who could actually make it out to these events -- everyone in LA is too busy working coz it's so freakin' expensive to live there.
This is one of those many events that I'd often hear about -- then think about going -- then check my calendar -- and then realize I couldn't go.
But I'm sure it'll draw a crowd -- with a population that size, the odds are there will be enough interested parties who can make it.
