Jane Russell had passed away at age 89. She was regarded as a bombshell by many in the forties and fifties and is best known for the film she made for Howard Hawks, THE OUTLAW.

I thought it was interesting that she wasn't portrayed at all in The Aviator, especially given that several other more minor starlets whose career Hughes helped to launch (e.g. Faith Domergue) were. I wonder if the fact that Russell was still alive at the time the film was made created legal issues?

What was I thinking? Because they both had the same name, I typed Hawks instead of Hughes. Yes it was Howard Hughes who produced THE OUTLAW.
