Dirty Dancing was my first experience with seeing what a quick video release would do to a movie's theatrical sales. The show came out on video amazingly fast for that time, and we wound up playing it a week or two after the video debut. It went right in the toilet for us. If we'd played it a month sooner it would have done great business.
