My email address has found its way into various companies press release list. The occasional press release of something new or a major announcement is an interesting read, but of course part of the definition of a press release must be that it is painfully lame, filled with nothing but pat-on-the-back / self-suck fluff.

There is also at least one company that makes a damn press release every time they sell ANYTHING. Really? OMG we just sold another box! We must now make a press release!

Many of them don't even bother to spell check or make sure it is proofed by someone who speaks English either.

This one takes the cake. I've never even heard of this company, although they are "the world leading provider of digital audio and visual products".

I call bullshit on device. No way it real. Only place ever see such a thing is in science fiction movie! And Steve Johnson? No way FOCUX get actual American on employ. FOCUX does it again. Amazing!

It reads like it is translated from some (non-Western) language. I've seen better on small manuals that come with cheap Chinese watches. Louis

1) A world leading provider of audio equipment would have more than one audio product.

2) The company's website ( http://focux.me ) indicates the company is in Montenegro. So they could be translating the original material from any number of languages...

I can just imagine the "US" side of a phone conversation calling into their company. Other people in the room would hear something like this.

"Hello, I am looking to speak with a technician for the FOCUX sound processor."

"Huh? The FOCUX sound processor."

"No I need to speak to a technician please."

"What? Can you repeat that please?"

"Huh? A technician."

"A tech. Help support."

"FOCUX repair."

"What did you say?"

"What? Please repeat that?"

"Huh? I'm sorry I cannot understand you."

"English?"

"Ummm, Engrish?"

and on and on and on.

Foreign companies that want to be successful in foreign English-speaking markets need to make sure they have people on staff that speak clear English to provide good sales and support. There is nothing more aggravating than asking them to repeat what they said over and over and over so we can try and "translate" though their thick accent...but that is never the case.
