Harry Morgan passed away Wednesday morning in Los Angeles. He was 96 years old. His two best known parts were from M*A*S*H and Dragnet and 100 supporting roles for over five decades.

Dang, I didn't know he was still alive. Aw horse feathers.

Morgan had supporting roles in quite a few westerns, including
How the West Was Won and High Noon.

I am blown away that MASH has been off the air for twenty eight years already. I can still remember having to go to bed at 9pm every night as a child, except for Tuesdays (later Mondays) to watch MASH.

I just happened to come across his bio on IMDB last month and noticed he was still alive . . . it surprised me too. One of my favorite episodes of MASH is the one filmed in a documentary style in which Colonel Potter recounts his experiences in World War I and World War II. Although MASH was about Korea, perhaps its fitting he passed away on the 70th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day.

I never did watch M*A*S*H -- too busy working at the theatre -- but I really enjoyed him on Dragnet. He'll always be "Bill Gannon" to me. R.I.P.

One of my favorites. I watched him rise from a bit part punk to his Col. Potter role. I loved him in his "Support Your Local Sheriff" role too. He was very good and will be missed. I'll meet you at the Gate Harry.
