I'm no longer in the cinema business. I couldn't work enough to really stay on top of everything like I wanted, so I decided to go.

Dont be sorry for me. I'll still be here, and I'll be OK.

Sometimes one knows when to leave. Better than staying too long, Bruce it would only drain your soul. Here's to all the professionals in the booth like yourself that provided me with many many years of great enjoyment. I have not seen a poorly presented film on the big screen in over 30 years. You guys knew what you were doing and did it well.

Best of luck Bruce. I left the business in '07 after a total of 27 years. I love this business and am hoping I can return to it. But they'll have to teach me all this digital stuff.

Bruce, your announcement brings with it a lot of mixed emotions. This business really gets in your blood. I had always hoped to jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway and drop down your way in hopes of meeting you in person, but that didn't happen, even though we're geographically not too far apart. Best of everything in your future endeavors... maybe our paths will still cross someday.

I'm not going anywhere. Staying in western NC, of course.

I decided that it was time when my employee evaluation went to hell overnight because 'we got rid of film.'

In the past week, my issues with shingles has lessened, and that is nothing short of wonderful!

There is no showmanship with digital. I could bypass the automation on the film projectors and use the curtains, etc.

I did wind up getting alot of film equipment, so it wasn't all bad!!

It's sad to hear that digital takes all the control away from the operator. Keep us informed about your progress Bruce. It's my guess that for years to come 35mm prints of classics will be available. Perhaps you could open a classic house.
