British actor, Richard Griffith passed away at age 65. He had a very illustrious career and is best known as Uncle Vernon in the Harry Potter films.

When I read this thread I thought you meant the Richard Griffith who helped Iris Barry found The Museum of Modern Art's film archive in the 1940s, and carried on an expletive-laden correspondence with Paul Rotha (of which edited and heavily censored versions have been published, but the originals - Rotha's copies are in the UCLA Library's special collections department - are a challenge to read without bursting out laughing - not a sitution you want to find yourself in when in a library's reading room!) over several decades. Hang on a moment - he must have been over 100, I thought.
